Guests say

Snowdon View is a well-located cottage in Caernarfon, North Wales, offering comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere. It is praised for its proximity to local amenities and scenic spots, making it an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia. Some guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the cottage's quaint charm.

Cleanliness is a concern, with multiple reviews mentioning the need for a deep clean, and issues such as dust, hair, and dirty kitchenware. However, some guests found the property clean upon arrival.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, restaurants, and proximity to Snowdonia's attractions. Parking can be challenging but manageable with nearby options.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially the attic room. Some issues with doors and heating were noted, but overall the property provides a comfortable stay.

The cottage offers a range of facilities, but there are reports of maintenance issues such as leaking sinks and insufficient glassware. The well-equipped kitchen and internet speed are positives.

While some guests mentioned a welcome doggy hamper, there is insufficient information to assess overall thoughtfulness consistently. Gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

About this property

A well-appointed, character terraced cottage in the centre of the popular village of Llanberis, on the edge of Snowdonia, with nearby walking access to Snowdon and the pretty lake of Llyn Padarn. Located on a residential side street, this charming cosy cottage is ideally situated for all the amenities of the village and will delight couples, friends and families wishing to explore the area. Homely and tastefully finished, it offers welcoming open plan living accommodation across the ground floor with a delightful sitting area with stone inglenook fireplace housing a traditional woodburner. The lovely oak flooring extends through to a bespoke kitchen area, which is well equipped, and a dining area, ideal for a leisurely breakfast before setting off for a day of walking and exploring. There are three cosy bedrooms, one on the second floor enjoying a glimpse of Snowdon from the skylights, along with a modern first floor family bathroom. Outside is an enclosed slate patio area to the rear, which enjoys a sunny aspect in the afternoon, ideal for a relaxed glass of wine before heading out for a meal in one of the many eating establishments a short walk away. With plenty of pretty walks leading from the doorstep, each embracing the fantastic surrounding scenery, there are lots of lovely things to see on foot. If you’re feeling a little less energetic then let the train take the strain and take the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit of this popular peak, with the platform a five minute walk away. There is so much to see and do within very easy reach, with the Llanberis Lake Railway, National Slate Museum and Electric Mountain area all within easy reach. A little further afield you can enjoy Zipworld Titan and Caverns, the longest 4-man zip wire in Europe, Bounce Below underground trampoline, along with the magnificent slate caverns at Llechwedd - all located at Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is a stunning drive away. The North Wales Coast, dotted with ancient castles, is also easily accessible from this delightful cottage, which is a great base for exploring both coast and country at any time of the year.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a ‘mecca’ for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit.

It's in an excellent location, a few mins from the lake, pubs, cafes and shops. It's also fantastic if you are climbing Snowdon. I do have a few observations/suggestions. The lockbox is loose on the wall under the window, it's very difficult to get the keys out and then also to close it afterwards. We struggled so much when we arrived I rang the emergency number ... but no one answered! Eventually we managed to get the keys but then had a struggle to lock the box. The key box is not in a great position. Also the door is very difficult to close with the key, it took two of use to try it for a few minutes before it locked. There is a very tiny step into the lounge, this needs to be highlighted with tape or something, all 6 of us tripped up into the lounge at some point, I hurt my foot and my arm trying to stop my fall. Asking us to sort out recycling is great, we liked that it was so strict, however asking us to take a full bin up very badly maintained steps to a gate that was very difficult to open is not great when we only booked this for 2 nights and had minimal rubbish/recycling. The steps at the back are dangerous, the gate is rusted. Some hand soap in the bathroom would have been appreciated, although I have since noted you mention not all your properties provide hand soap. A couple of hooks on all the doors (bedrooms and bathroom) would be helpful. It was a low cost option for us that did the trick, although I do hope the owner might fix the items I've mentioned. Many thanks. Sandy

The cottage is situated in a good location close to the lake. The parking situation in the street is slightly difficult but there is a pay and display car park close by. The cottage is very well equipped in terms of crockery and cutlery. The only downside (this was the only downside) was that the cottage smelt of damp, wet dog which was a big let down and on reflection I now wished I had book a pet friendly cottage.
