Y Stabal offers guests a spacious, well-located cottage with stunning mountain views and easy access to local attractions. Many guests enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, comfortable beds, and dog-friendly garden. The property provides a cosy base for exploring North Wales. However, several reviews mention that the cottage would benefit from more thorough cleaning, regular maintenance, and some updates to furnishings and equipment. Despite these issues, most guests found their stay enjoyable and appreciated the beautiful surroundings.

Cleanliness is a recurring concern, with multiple guests noting cobwebs, dust, and areas needing a deep clean. Bathrooms are generally reported as clean, but kitchens and living areas often require more attention. Some guests had to clean on arrival, and issues such as dirty crockery and greasy surfaces were mentioned.

The location is consistently praised for its beautiful views, proximity to Snowdonia, local towns, and attractions. Guests appreciated the peaceful countryside setting, though a few noted some road noise. Overall, the setting is a major highlight.

Guests found the beds and living areas generally comfortable, with cosy features like a log burner and underfloor heating. However, some reviews mention uncomfortable or creaky beds, tired furnishings, and issues with temperature control or draughts.

Facilities are described as basic but adequate, with some guests missing essentials like soap, washing up liquid, or a welcome book. Maintenance issues such as leaking showers, broken furniture, and inadequate Wi-Fi were reported. The property would benefit from updates and more attention to repairs.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches. Several guests noted the absence of basics such as hand soap, toilet rolls, and cleaning supplies. Please note that gifts or extras are not guaranteed.

I agree with many of the recent reviews that the barn is looking quite tired. It has so much potential, and with a bit of TLC it really could be outstanding. The bathrooms were clean, but the rest of the property could really do with a thorough deep clean. We found an empty water bottle under the sofa, tissues under the bed, and cobwebs with dead flies hanging from them. Some of the fixtures also need attention. The fridge shelf was held together with tape, and the oven door seal was only attached by about 1 cm. I was very glad I'd brought my air fryer! On a positive note, the garden is lovely, and we really enjoyed spending time sitting outside. Unfortunately, I don't think we'd return unless the property has had a significant makeover, as it could be a fantastic place with a little more care and maintenance.

The barn is spacious and well laid out but sadly it is very tired and in good need of a refurb and deep clean. Whilst you expect some fresh cobwebs, there were old hanging webs everywhere. We had to clean every handle on cupboards in the kitchen as they were extremley greasy . The extractor fan looked filthy. The fridge smells and is rusty inside. The bin and the cupboard it is contained in smells awful. We were compelled to eat out because of the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen The double bedroom has a dubious chest of drawers and the bedding was shabby. The wall was marked behind the bed because there was no head board .A single wardrobe had mens clothes in it !! which led us to beleive someone is living in the Barn. We lived out of our suitcases. On a plus side all bathrooms were clean. The attached cottage does look in much better condition. I do wonder if Sykes have visited the property recently? Overall, very dissappinting accomodation which was not cheap for 3 nights.

We’ve stayed in both properties and preferred Stabal Bit of general maintenance still needed, decoration started but not finished and back door very difficult to close near impossible during the very hot wrather with the upvc door expanding, Overall though I’d give our week a 8/10. As usual we’ve re-booked another week later in the year.
