With fantastic amenities, sandy beaches and traditional Welsh villages on your doorstep, the cottage is an ideal retreat for a family or group of six. On-street parking is available in front of the property to unpack and step inside to find a number of charming surprises. Be welcomed by the social heart of the house, a spacious living/dining room with beautiful rustic features including an exposed stone wall and lovely wooden furnishings, complete with a woodburning stove for colder evenings, dining for six, two sumptuous sofas and a smart TV with Netflix. The cottage is well equipped for a self catering for up to 6 people, with a galley kitchen with a 4 ring gas hob, separate electric oven and grill, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine; cook up a hearty breakfast before exploring the Llŷn Peninsula and finish the day with your family's favourite home-cooked meal. Younger guests or those seeking a quieter escape will find a that there is a charming rear snug sitting room at the back of the house with a further exposed stone wall and a Freeview TV with large windows overlooking the bay and the castle. Catch your rest ready for the day's adventures in one of three bedrooms at Awel Y Mor, including a king-size, a twin and a bunkbed. Energise the day with a hot shower in the convenient ground-floor wet room or sink into a bubble bath in the spacious family bathroom with access to the first-floor terrace, before wrapping yourself in a warm towel fresh off the heated towel rail. Awel Y Mor's outdoor space makes it a wonderful summer base; dine alfresco on the patio with a barbecue and benches for seating, as well as space for storing bikes, surf boards and muddy boots, or take the spiral staircase up to the first-floor terrace, a lovely spot to soak up the views. Admire the sparkling sea, bustling bay and village, as well as Criccieth's romantic hilltop Castle, whilst you gather around the outdoor seating or recline on the sun loungers with a good book. You'll be situated in the centre of Criccieth for a plethora of amenities and attractions; dine in a traditional Welsh pub, grab takeaway fish and chips before heading to the sandy beaches, or climb the hill to get a closer look at the spectacular Criccieth Castle. Enjoy a stroll along the beaches or unwind in one of the many pubs, restaurants and tea rooms while sampling the famous Cadwalader's ice cream.

    Currently fails value for money test. This is a real shame as it has so much potential and has many plus points: Pet free, a wonderful sun deck with outstanding views, spacious sun room, easy access to the centre of Criccieth, comfy main bed, an excellent local cleaner. On the downsides the internal gable wall has a significant damp problem especially in double and twin bedrooms. Has a professional Fire Risk Assessment ever been undertaken? e.g. the very small and out of date fire extinguisher in kitchen is on the window ledge behind gas hob, no thumbnail turns on exit doors and more. The description and pictures show a shower mixer tap in the bath in the bathroom but no longer there nor are the storage heaters. WHB in bathroom cracked. Yes there are 2 TVs but the larger one only receives BBC and the smaller one is not much larger than a laptop. House in theory sleeps 6 but barely enough storage upstairs for just the two of us. Curtains in both front bedrooms much shorter than the windows. These are just some examples not a full list by any means. In the coming weeks would suggest that Sykes and the owners need to spend time together slowly going through the entire house from the out of date welcome folder to the table on the sun deck where the legs have just about rotted away, agreeing on what guests expect in 2025 and not 10 years ago. Then the owners need to reinvest some of the rental income this winter. If this property was once again loved would happily return for 1 - 3 weeks a year and give our usual 5 star review

    Very clean and comfortable. Issue with the TV sorted out quickly. A lovely stay.

    Beautiful balcony, 3 bed. The balcony simply put was dangerous. The bannister came off in our hand as one of children slipped and grabbed it. We discovered 8 screws were missing and the glass panels facing the drop were loose and shook. Video evidence to prove it. . Our opinion is the wood is rotting underneath the decking which meant the screws became loose. The owner sent a builder the next day who used plastic tyes for the hand rail Only . Nothing was done about the glass panels. Therefore we did not use the balcony despite a comment being made that we did. It was too dangerous. We later after compiling evidence also discovered near the stair well same issue- no screw and loose panelling. It’s a death trap. The builder whilst did his best he nor the owner checked the property fully. Sykes take zero ownership so beware of your rights despite marketing it mainly on the balcony feature We paid £1600 and did not use the main feature for 4 and a bit days and we’re offered £200 by the owner. General maintenance - little space you use the 3rd room for clothes and sitcases because there are no closets and the only real area for larger clothing like jumpers , jeans etx is floating shelves which on their own can only take so much weight. There were cobwebs everywhere and a strong smell of damp. The shower downstairs is mouldy. It really was over priced. I haven’t complained about the latter as the balcony issue is the prevalent issue. I have no idea is the glass panels have been fixed and screwed or if the tyes have been replaced for screws . Cost wise it really is not a fair price - in hindsight much better value for money properties with better upkeep
