Hendy Cottage is a charming, quirky retreat set in a tranquil and picturesque rural location, perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped kitchen, with many highlighting the beautiful gardens and stunning views. The cottage is ideal for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and is especially appreciated by dog owners. While some mention low beams and access to the upstairs bedroom as challenges for taller guests, and occasional maintenance or comfort issues, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Cleanliness is frequently praised, with guests describing the cottage as spotlessly clean, well maintained, and welcoming. Only one review mentioned a lingering smoke smell in the living room, but this was an isolated comment among many positive remarks.
The location is widely appreciated for its peace, privacy, and beautiful countryside views. Its remoteness is seen as a positive by most, though a few note the distance to shops and narrow access lanes. The setting is ideal for exploring the local area and enjoying nature.
Guests find the cottage cosy and restful, with comfortable beds and a relaxing atmosphere. Some mention low ceilings and beams as a challenge for taller guests, and a few note the upstairs bedroom access is tricky, but overall comfort is highly rated.
The cottage is described as well equipped, with a good kitchen, secure gardens for dogs, and thoughtful amenities. Minor suggestions include clearer appliance instructions, a washer dryer, and a few kitchen items. Occasional maintenance issues are mentioned but quickly resolved by the owner.
Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with tea, coffee, milk, Welsh cakes, and wine, though these are not guaranteed for every stay. Communication with the owner is frequently praised for being prompt and helpful.

The location was stunning, surrounded by a pleasant garden and fragrant trees. My stay was quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms were clean and inviting. What unfortunately made it difficult for me to enjoy, and ultimately affected this review, is the living room. The property has a âno smokingâ policy, yet the room felt and looked as though someone had smoked there regularly for years. I react very badly to any trace of cigarette smoke, which for me results in severe headaches, so I couldnât even walk through that room without having to take a breath of fresh air from the garden first, just to reach the bedroom at the end of the cottage. Thankfully, the issue was limited to the living room and not the bedrooms, so keeping the door shut helped. However, as a result, I could not fully enjoy all the facilities in the property. When I book, I specifically look for a nonâsmoking property, and that is how this was described. Therefore, encountering this issue felt at odds with the listing. For clarity, this did not feel like the result of a previous guest smoking. My intention in giving this feedback is to make the owner aware of the issue, as suggestions are welcome, and also to inform other guests, particularly those who may be sensitive to tobacco. Other than that, everything else in and around the property was great.
