As well as providing fantastic self-catering for big groups near the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, it has hosted the likes of Oasis, Ozzy Osborne, Tom Jones, and Stereophonics - all of whom have stayed here while rehearsing and recording albums in the legendary studio. Recently refurbished, the property sleeps up to 26 people in 11 beautiful bedrooms, seven of which are ensuite, and is 300 metres away from the lane with no passing traffic to disturb your peace. The setting is perfect for parties, including well-behaved hen and stag groups - boasting a soundproof party room, cinema room, and a hot tub.

There is plenty to do in the area around Monnow Valley Studio. To start with, it's beside the River Monnow with opportunities for fishing and wild swimming. Winding lanes lead to places like Grosmont Castle, and there are footpaths from the door through scenic countryside. The Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley are within a short drive, providing lots of opportunities for walking, mountain biking, fishing and kayaking. Add to the "famous" effect of your stay with a visit to Puzzlewood where the mystical ancient woodland has been used as a film set for Doctor Who, Star Wars, The Huntsman and other films and TV shows. There are golf courses nearby, including the Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club and Forest Hills Golf Club, and riding stables where you can arrange guided rides.

You can arrange for grocery delivery to Monnow Valley Studio but, if you want to pop out for milk and bread, Monmouth is just over two miles away with a good variety of amenities and options for eating out. The market town is the birthplace of Henry V and home to the medieval Monnow Bridge - the only bridge of its kind left in Britain. Local attractions include Clearwell Caves, Ancre Hill Vineyard, Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo and half-a-dozen castles in various states of repair. However, the property's space and facilities are so good that many guests are happy to sleep late and laze around the house and grounds, enjoying having time to spend with family and friends in this amazing setting.

The owners of Monnow Valley Studios live on the estate and are there to welcome guests and answer questions you have about the local area or the history of the venue. They can also help arrange onsite catering and beauty treatments to ensure you and your guests can enjoy the full rockstar experience.

The owners have recently completed a full refurbishment of the accommodation, bringing it into the 21st Century without losing its unique character and sense of history. Fixtures and furnishings are of a very high standard. Accommodation is over three levels with highlights including:

Ground Floor:

Interconnecting games/cinema room, soundproofed party room and dining room. The doors between the party room and dining room can be pulled back to create an enormous space for socialising.

Relaxed and welcoming kitchen/family room with catering standard appliances and equipment. The owners can recommend professional chefs who can come in to cater for a one-off party, prepare daily meals, or fill the fridge with easy to prepare dishes.

Snug with a sofa bed that can be used as a downstairs bedroom.

Quiet lounge with comfortable seating, and a TV with Sky, Netflix, and Amazon Prime channels. The property has Fibreoptic broadband throughout.

Twin bedroom with two single beds and an ensuite with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin,

Double bedroom with an ensuite and a door interconnecting with the twin room. These rooms also have an outside entrance and can be used by guests with limited mobility.

First Floor:

Seven lovely bedrooms, each with gorgeous views over the gardens. Four of the bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms. All beds are made up for guests' arrival with hotel quality bedlinen. Bath towels are provided.

Outside: Take the party outside onto the spacious terrace which has outdoor sofas, tables and chairs, and the option of a hot tub. Mature gardens provide peace and privacy, and the Monnow River runs along the edge of the grounds. There is off-street parking for 16 cars.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and fuel for the wood burner are provided. Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner. There is an extra cost for the hot tub hire. The property is non-smoking.
