"loved it! thought the pictures undersold it - it was far lovlier in reality than the images made out on the website"
"We had an amazing holiday, the facilities were perfect, the location beautiful and the accommodation was fantastic. We would recommend this and definitely return. The boating lake was a complete hit with my son who spent every day rowing on it. The tennis courts were a success with the adults. I loved the cows : )"
"Lovely location but tired accommodation (shower didn't work at all) although the whole place due to be renovated in the autumn so would probably be worth staying after that. The area is beautiful for walking/cycling and the accomodation very clean and owners helpful."

"A stunning tranquil location, perfect for relaxation and contemplation. Mr and Mrs Bosanquet were the perfect hosts who made me very welcome and who were available to help if needed, but otherwise left me/ us alone to enjoy our stay. I would recommend this location and both its rental properties, unreservedly."
"The accommodation was spacious and warm, and the location was idyllic. However, the kitchen needs updating and the bathroom needs to be modernised. It was a very pleasant stay and the owners were welcoming, so on the whole we would consider booking the accommodation again."
"Really intruiging location, would like to visit again, beautiful period furniture and plenty of bathrooms. I struggled a bit with the bed as i am tall but most would find it really comfortable, great parking, short walk to the local village shop. "
"Tennis court needs some major repairs, albeit playable - just! A beautiful homely property, with easy access to the Forrest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons. Nearby Monmouth provides restaurants, shopping and services."
"Full of character and in a very attractive setting. We very much hope to return. "
"Really enjoyed our stay, the owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful."
"Very nice venue, nice old furniture, nice grounds and friendly welcome.Enjoyed the rowing!(Just one tip - A welcome pack would be good - similar to all other cottages via the same company we have stayed at - would have been good - even just milk since supermarket quite a drive away.)"

"Lovely spacious open plan living/dining area. A small kitchen but had everything needed to make Christmas lunch! The cottage was very comfortable in lovely grounds. Extractor fans in the kitchen and bathroom would be a good addition, but otherwise everything was great. Dec 2012."

"Excellent accommodation - 3 generations and a dog enjoyed the stay at Stable Court. Beautiful location, well placed for the many and varied attractions of the area. Very helpful owner. May 2012. "

"Location - excellent in that within large beautiful grounds with lake. Fairly accessible to A40 and from that easy to get to Monmouth, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons etc. Had all amenities and 3 spacious bedrooms, plus very warm, including log burning stove. Hosts very friendly and helpful. April 2012. "

"A roomy, comfortable, beautiful holiday let affording unusual accommodation - converted wing with vaulted ceiling in a house full of history- in amazing grounds. Something for all ages, assuming a love of magnificent country side, including rowing on a lake 200 yards away through the fields. We had a change round in the party, due to work and commitments, and Stable Court happily housed residents of seven months to seventy, enchanting us all. It was light and well heated with the added advantage of a big log burner for cosy evenings. The Bosanquets could not do enough to help us. We bought lovely eggs from them too and, through the excellent local shop found Bromfields Butchers at Gilwern where we purchased bacon, sausage and other goodies. Apart from exploring the wonderful estate, local church and wandering to the Somerset Arms, we visited Raglan Castle- super for all ages- Tintern Abbey, Tintern Parva with wine and lambs, the Old Station at Tintern and Abergavenny. Wernddu vineyard at Pen-y-clawdd is also to be recommended. Some of the party also went clay pigeon shooting -details in the visitors’ book. April 2012."

"Beautiful and very thoughtfully equipped cottage in outstanding grounds, in fact, on several days we just stayed in situ and made use of the tennis court and lake (with boats and oars!)but lots to do and see in the area. Amazingly tranquil atmosphere, you can really unwind here. The owners are extremely helpful but not intrusive. July 2011."
    Previous guest
"Historic character and converted to a very high standard. Warm and welcoming with efficient central heating and a wood burning stove that was already lit for us. Feb 2011."
    Previous guest
"It was full of period charm, the owners were very friendly but not intrusive. Aug 2010."
    Previous guest
"The property was superb, but more importantly the proprietors reaction to permitting dogs to enjoy the house and grounds was refreshing and made the holiday perfect. Their ’laissez-faire’ attitude and encouragement to enjoy the grounds to this beautiful manor will entice us back in the future - after all pets should enjoy a change of scenery too! June 2010."

"Very well situated for easy acsess to very sceanic places we loved the countryside and the rivers so many places to visit we where spoiled for choice we will definetly return and the dogs plenty of open spaces for them to excersie. May 2010"

"This property was absolutely top class and myself and the other guests were hugely impressed. March 2010."

"Very welcoming and a beautiful location. The children loved rowing on the lake and playing tennis and were able to cycle around on the driveway safely. We would certainly think about going there again. We had a lovely week. Aug 2009."

"Lovely comfortable property with character. Aug 2009."
    Previous guest
"Size of the accommodation was excellent. Your photos of the interior on the website do not do the place justice. Meant to say this to the owners - as it’s a dog-friendly property it would have been useful to have information on pubs/eateries in the area that are dog-friendly as we were not allowed to leave the dog in the property unattended. Other information was extremely useful and fabulous having details of the history of the property. Wonderful country walks available on the doorstep. We were given access to a huge field and around the lake to let our dog off lead and she went bonkers chasing rabbits - too stupid to catch any though! July 2009."

"A beautiful place to relax without being too far from a wide variety of things to do. June 2008."

"Brochure didnt do the location and accommodation justice, it far exceeded our expectations! May 2007."

"Stable Court is an idyllic place to stay and the owners are kindness itself but not at all intrusive. Oct 2006."
