Crymych 2.8 miles. Resting in Bryn Haul Animal Sanctuary in Tegryn near Crymych, Pembrokeshire, is the Animal Sanctuary Caravan Stay, a delightful and unique, vegan fiendly single-storey lodge. Enveloped by countryside views and boasting a family and pet-friendly setting, the lodge welcomes four guests and two well-behaved dogs, passionate about supporting the sanctuary. Be welcomed into the homely open-plan living space, equipped to ease your self-catering stay, including all expected culinary appliances, plush seating, a gas fire, a vegan-friendly welcome hamper, and adorable pictures of the resident animals. Prepare meals in the kitchen, before enjoying them as a family around the dining table, or as an alfresco affair, upon your private patio. Once dusk sets in, retreat to one of the two well-presented bedrooms, including a double with en-suite cloakroom and a twin, both featuring storage and warm furnishings, helping you feel at home. Come morning, refresh in the shower room before taking to the Pembrokeshire countryside. Visit Ffynone Waterfall, a hidden gem encircled by forest trails before continuing your journey to Cenarth to see its popular popular Falls and the National Coracle Centre - a 17th-century flour mill, which offers guided tours and a delightful gift shop and is open from Easter to September. Continuing towards Cardigan, stop off at the Welsh Wildlife Centre and impressive Norman castle of Cilgerran before taking a tour of Cardigan Castle, the birthplace of the Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176 or venture to the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, which is home to a variety of farm animals and provides a breath-taking view of the surrounding coastline. Make sure to head west to see the Gentle Giants at the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm in Eglwyswrw and spend time learning about our history at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village before visiting the stunning Pentre Ifan neolithic burial chamber. Nearby Newport with its coastal beaches on the Pembrokeshire Coast Park and popular eateries is a must and is the gate-way to Carningli and the mythical stories of our Preseli Hills - the birthplace of Stonehenge. At the end of the day, it's time to return to base to support and surround yourself in Susan and Aaron's wonderful and caring world at the Animal Sanctuary Caravan Stay.
The settlement of Crymych is situated next to the magnificent Preseli Hills, where sheep and wild ponies roam, amid the bucolic Pembrokeshire countryside. A mini-supermarket, butcher, baker, bar, chemist, fish & chip store, hair salon, post office, and many other local businesses can be found in the village itself. Newport, which offers a convenience store, butcher, pharmacy, whole foods market, gift shops, tourist information, and much more, is only a short drive away. Excellent cafes, restaurants, and taverns are plentiful. Fresh seafood is available at Tides Kitchen and Wine Bar. The hosts were great, they gave us our space, but happy to help if needed. The welcome crumpets and jam were much appreciated by the children, and we were able to buy more home made jam, yum!
