The Forge in Haverfordwest offers a peaceful stay with modern amenities, comfortable beds, and friendly neighbours. Its proximity to beaches and local walks, alongside a secure garden, makes it ideal for both families and dog owners. Guests appreciate the homely touches and the property's cleanliness, though some noted areas for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Most guests found The Forge to be clean and tidy, with high standards of cleanliness noted. However, a few mentioned issues with mould in the bathroom and a damp smell in one of the bedrooms, slightly affecting the overall perception.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to beaches and coastal walks. The rural and remote setting is appreciated for a peaceful getaway, although some guests noted difficulty in finding the property initially.
Guests generally found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the heating and log burning stove. However, there were comments about hard mattresses in the twin room and a desire for cosier touches in the sitting room.
The Forge is well-equipped with kitchen essentials and offers secure parking and garden space. Some guests experienced issues with slow ovens, poor shower pressure, and a lack of information on waste disposal. Maintenance concerns such as a broken washing line were also raised.
Guests mentioned thoughtful gestures such as a welcome box and the provision of cushions and throws. While these touches were appreciated, it is noted that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Everything we needed, comfortable and perfect for our dog. We would definitely recommend. Thank you
Jennifer
No heating when we arrived it was set at 17 degrees, we did work out how to adjust it after reading the instructions but by then the whole place was very cold as it was every day when we came back. We were stuck with a whole weekâs rubbish in the kitchen as the dustbin was padlocked outside and no instructions where to put it and the gale force wind meant we couldnât put it outside
John
It is very dog-friendly with a secure garden and a decking area so our dog could run outside with no worries. It was easy to find and the instructions inside gave us all the information we needed. It is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of storage and a good fridge and freezer. We had the impression that remedial work had been carried out and it was very smart. The cottage is very close to the coast and lovely beaches and the coastal footpath can be accessed by walking down a quiet lane which was also a good dog walk in the evening.
