About this property

Nestled on the outskirts of Narberth, a bustling town in Pembrokeshire, is this fabulous single-storey dwelling, 1 Hornbeam Lodge, situated on a golf-course. Complete with a private veranda and garden, housing a hot tub, open-plan living, and a welcoming interior, the lodge is the ideal retreat for friends, families, and couples, looking to escape to the rural countryside. Arriving at the spacious open-plan living space, here you can look forward to relaxing in front of the electric fire, whilst spending some quality time together discussing your daily adventures. The contemporary kitchen, fitted with sleek white units and worktops, and state-of-the-art appliances offers the ideal space to rustle up delicious meals, possible to enjoy around the dining table with a well-deserved glass of wine. Once you’ve cleared up, step out to your very own outdoor space, enveloped by the countryside, ideal for a babbling soak in the hot tub, before heading indoors to refresh in the generously-sized bathroom. Retire to one of the two bedrooms on offer, both well-presented, including a double with TV and en-suite shower room, and a twin, where you can make yourself at home after a fun-filled day. Heading into Narberth you’ll find an array of traditional eateries, and a selection of shops and supermarkets to ease your self-catered stay. A short journey from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, stretching across 186 miles, enjoy far-reaching views across the coastline whilst taking a walk across the golden sandy terrain or perhaps taking to the water for some water sports. On your travels, be sure to visit some of the county’s landmarks, including Pembroke Castle, where Henry VII resided, or if you’d prefer an adrenaline filled day out, head to Oakwood Theme Park with thrilling rollercoaster rides, or Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, with many farmyard animals, games, and fair rides to enjoy, whilst Skomer nature reserve is rich with bird life. Experience all of this, and more, at 1 Hornbeam Lodge.

With its many distinctive stores, including upscale boutiques, specialty delis, and one-of-a-kind gift shops, the thriving town of Narberth is a treat to explore. Additionally, there are a variety of restaurants, bistros, and pubs in and around the town. Numerous performances, plays, and events are held in Queen's Hall, Narberth's premier cultural and arts facility, throughout the year. The harbour and seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot are nearby, and the entire county of Pembrokeshire beckons. Whilst the lodge itself was pleasant and clean, unfortunately I came home a day early with appalling Hot Tub Rash, diagnosed by both a qualified Minor Injuires Nurse AND my GP, and have been placed on high dose, of strong antibiotics (Docycyline and Fucidin cream ) for a week. When I complained, I have been told Sykes Cottages take no responsibility and offer no good will gesture as this is a Health and Safety issue, and the owner wil be informed and take it from there. I have heard absolutely nothing, and am unable to get through to anyone in spite of sending photographs etc. SHOCKING! Hot tub rash occurs because of DIRTY WATER and POOR HYGIENE, and a lack of chlorine and chemical balance in the water. To add insult to injury, the Hot tub is actually out of use on the last day, as allegedly the water is changed and cleaned. Given my rash was developing, we left a day early, unsure of the exact cause at the time. Noone expects to pay a premium for a Hot Tub and have this experience. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU THINK TWICE ABOUT BOOKING WITH SYKES COTTAGES AND THIS PROPERTY, AS THERE IS NO COMEBACK WHEN UNFIT FOR PURPOSE. APPARENTLY AN OWNER HAS TO ADMIT FAULT, AND THE POLICY OF THIS LODGE IS TO IGNORE YOU. DISGUSTING. SEE PHOTOS. I HAVE BEEN IN A TERRIBLE STATE FOR A WEEK. SYKES ALSO CHOOSE TO IGNORE ME AFTER THEIR INTIAL RESPONSE THAT IT IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE, THUS CANNOT OFFER A GOODWILL GESTURE. AGAIN DISGUSTING. SEE PHOTOGRAPHS, AND DECIDE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WISH TO RISK. WE WILL NEVER USE EITHER SERVICE AGAIN.
