Lyndale is a well-received cottage in Newport, praised for its spaciousness, well-stocked kitchen, and beautiful views. It comfortably accommodates large groups and families, offering a convenient location for local exploration. Guests have enjoyed the outdoor areas and found the property to be a welcoming base for their holiday.
Most guests found Lyndale clean and welcoming, though there were mentions of cobwebs and a dirty barbecue. The property was described as spotless by a recent visitor, indicating attention to cleanliness overall.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the village, sea, and local attractions like Newport sands and the golf course, making it an ideal spot for guests.
The cottage is commended for its comfort, accommodating three families with ease and providing ample bathrooms. However, minor issues with a bedroom door and on-suite lock were noted.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. Some maintenance issues like slow drainage and a minor oven problem were reported, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
While guests have had positive experiences, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Lots of space to relax and chat and whilst we ate out for lunch/dinner, breakfasts around table in kitchen area were great. The setting was great with the sea views and everyone was taken with the location, easy walking distance to the pubs and cafes plus access to most walks. The cars hardly moved !! Definitely recommend the accomodation and the area

Spent our time with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. cottage was very roomy and the children loved the garden. One blip with the oven but on a call to the owner, an electrician was sent straight away. Lovely holiday and within walking distance to beach, shops and pubs and restaurants.

We have just spent 5 nights there in mid-May 2024, and loved both the house and the very welcoming village of Newport. Driveway took 2 cars, our 3rd car was parked on the road just in front. The kitchen is very well stocked: glasses, crockery & cutlery aplenty. Large welcoming kitchen table will easily accommodate 9 folks and more. Superb fridge & freezer. My only tiny point for the owners: the drainage in the back Double En Suite bathroom is slow, both from the hand basin, and from the shower/bath. At first I thought there might be a blockage. This did not seem to be the case - when I removed both plugs the water shot down the drain with gusto. The shower/bath plug has a mesh basket attached which really slows down drainage. Once the plug is lifted out, the bath drains very rapidly. The slow drainage from the hand basin is more of a mystery, perhaps a dose of Drain Unblocker Gloop might assist? In summary, we all loved our stay in Lyndale, and I would say that it's the best equipped house I have ever rented. The Ground Floor Shower area is a stroke of genius, and we found the house & contents absolutely spotless. Huge thank you to the owners.
