Guests say

Bwthyn Alarch is a well-received cottage in St Davids, praised for its prime location, comfort, and amenities like a hot tub. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to local attractions and the coast. While some concerns about cleanliness and maintenance were noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests enjoying their stay and expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage clean and tidy, though there were a few reports of areas needing more attention, such as light switches and cutlery. Some guests also mentioned a lack of cleaning products. The presence of both positive and negative comments leads to a slightly above average score.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to the coast, local pubs, and tourist attractions. The village of Trefin is appreciated for its quiet charm, and the ease of access to walking paths and nearby towns contributes to a high score.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the cottage, highlighting the cosy lounge, comfortable beds, and the addition of a hot tub. Some concerns were raised about heating and bathroom ventilation, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities such as the kitchen, lounge, and hot tub are generally well-regarded. However, some guests reported issues with the hot tub temperature and the lack of instructions for the heating system. Improvements have been noted, indicating ongoing attention to facilities.

While guests have mentioned a welcome basket and the provision of local information, there are not enough consistent references to specific thoughtful gestures or gifts to accurately score this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

About this property

Just a short drive from St Davids, Britain's smallest city and a few minutes’ walk from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, this pretty stone cottage has a private hot tub and is perfect for a couple or a small family. If you like beaches and harbours you will be spoilt for choice with Porthgain, the Blue Lagoon, Traethllyfn (National Trust beach), Abereiddy, St Davids and Whitesands to choose from.

Well worth a visit are the offshore bird islands of Ramsey, Skomer where you can see Puffins and Shearwaters in season.

The city of St Davids is situated on the far south west coast of Wales. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II, it is the smallest city in the UK, with its magnificent cathedral dating back to the 12th century and the ruins of the Bishop's Palace, both wonderful buildings to explore. Situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, St Davids is a delightful place with an array of unique shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery. Nearby Whitesands Bay is one of the many beautiful beaches in the area, and walkers will delight in the spectacular views from the coastal path which runs around the complete coastline of Pembrokeshire. Local buses will help with your walking plans, so that you can walk several stretches of the path with totally different landscapes and views each day. Dolphin spotting from land or from the many boat trips to local islands are a must, and are also perfect for enjoying the wonderful array of birds in their natural habitat. ). Everything we needed was available and the milk and Welsh cakes were a nice touch. We didn't actually get to meet the owners but they were easily contactable by email. The local pub does nice food. Highly recommended

The cottage is well kept and has everything you need for a short stay - a real home from home! The welcome basket and the information folder were very thoughtful (and useful) touches. The village of Treffin is picturesque and we had a wonderful stay visiting the local area. The hidden bay at the bottom of the hill (5 minutes walk) was a gem. The village pub was great, exceptionally friendly and the food was amazing. All in all, this was a great value for money holiday and I would highly recommend to couples and families alike.
