About this property

There’s something for everyone at this secluded cottage deep in the Black Mountains. Outside there are acres of gardens, fields, and a private waterfall to explore, the interiors are full of exquisite period features, and there’s a host of extras to enhance your down-time including table tennis, a pool table and wood-fired hot tub. Sleeping eight, it welcomes up to four dogs too, so no-one has to miss out on the holiday fun!

Catch up with friends or family at this historic hideaway and you’ll have a holiday to remember. The 16th-century homestead retains many original features that are complemented by traditionally styled rooms. Underfloor heating is supplemented by welcoming wood burners in the two main living rooms – one has a choice of sofas, a Smart TV and a pool table, while the other has an inglenook fireplace, comfortable seating and a spacious dining table perfect for big-group gatherings. The country kitchen will inspire any cook; with a breakfast table and two ovens, it’s complemented by a separate utility area. When it’s time to retire, stairs lead down from the living room to the ground floor, where two bedrooms have super-king-size beds, one of them with an additional single bed. A bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower is close by. Steep stone stairs also lead from the living room up to a king-size bedroom with an additional single bed and en-suite with a gorgeous roll-top bath. The wow-factor continues outside, where the fenced garden has a patio area with a wood-fired hot tub, a fire pit and furniture. Step into the garage for a game of table tennis or enjoy a stroll to the waterfall and shallow pool – there are fields all around.

This beautiful abode sits just beneath Lord Hereford's Knob and Hay Bluff in the Black Mountains – part of the Brecon Beacons National Park – and there’s a wealth of walks and cycle rides on your doorstep. Book-lovers’ favourite Hay-on-Wye is less than 5 miles north, while vibrant Crickhowell and Brecon are both within 11 miles.
