Flanked by the rivers of Cain and Abel, Llanfyllin is an ideal base for adventures in North Powys, Southern Snowdonia and at Lake Vyrnwy (12 miles) where a range of outdoor activities are on offer. A similar distance away, Welshpool is home to the Montgomery Canal and historic Powis Castle and Garden. In high season, the narrow-gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway runs 16 miles up some of the steepest gradients in Britain.
