Cedar Lodge is a superb, detached holiday retreat set in the peaceful countryside of Walton near Presteigne. This beautifully presented lodge offers spacious and stylish accommodation, perfect for families, friends, and pet lovers looking to unwind in nature with a touch of luxury. The large, open-plan living area features the lounge inviting relaxation with its comfortable seating, Smart TV, and wood burner, while the adjoining dining area is ideal for enjoying meals together. There is a fully equipped kitchen. Large French doors open onto a generous decked area and an enclosed garden—perfect for al fresco dining or a soak in the private hot tub. The lodge has four comfortable bedrooms all with French doors looking onto the patio, two king-size rooms with Smart TVs and en-suite shower rooms, and two twin bedrooms, each with Smart TVs. There are also two beautifully appointed family bathrooms—one with a freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle, and one with a walk-in shower. All rooms enjoy the comfort of underfloor heating.

Lovely location. The private woodland area for the dogs was amazing and they loved it. Would definitely recommend this place

The property has been nicely renovated, with a lovely open-plan living space and fantastic views over the Welsh/English border. We also enjoyed watching plenty of red kites from the property.Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected our stay. There were thousands of flies, which became particularly problematic at night and disrupted our sleep. The mattresses also felt quite cheap and could do with improvement.We were slightly concerned to find bed bug spray in the cupboard. We didn’t see any evidence of bed bugs, and the sheets appeared clean, although some were marked and looked well used.General cleanliness was okay, but some areas needed more attention, including dirty crockery on the dusty shelves, a greasy cooker hood and a dirty fireplace.The location is also very remote. There were no safe or enjoyable walks directly around the property, and the nearby public footpaths were very overgrown. A car was needed to reach suitable walking areas, which was disappointing given the rural setting.Overall, the property has great potential, especially with its beautiful views, but the flies, mattresses, cleanliness and lack of accessible walks did take away from the experience.
