Beudy Dolpebyll is a charming, characterful cottage set in peaceful, picturesque countryside with spacious gardens and a riverside location. Guests consistently praise the warm welcome from the owners, the well-equipped kitchen, and the cosy, rustic atmosphere. The property is ideal for nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity, with easy access to local walks and attractions. While most reviews are highly positive, a few mention cleanliness and maintenance issues, and the cottage may not suit those with mobility concerns due to stairs and low beams. Overall, it offers a delightful rural retreat with plenty of character.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with several describing it as spotless or well maintained. However, one detailed negative review cited significant cleanliness and mould issues, and a few others mentioned areas needing a refresh or spruce up. The majority of feedback is positive, but the negative experiences lower the overall impression.
The location is widely praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to nature, with guests enjoying the rural setting, gardens, and riverside. Many highlight the peacefulness and access to local walks and attractions. Some mention the property is remote and can be tricky to find, but this is generally seen as a positive for those seeking a quiet getaway.
Guests frequently describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with effective heating and a welcoming atmosphere. Some mention compact bedrooms and low beams, which may be challenging for taller guests or those with mobility issues, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is well equipped, with many guests noting the presence of a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen. Facilities such as the log burner and garden are appreciated. A few minor maintenance issues are mentioned, such as a misbehaving toaster and the need for some updates, but these do not detract significantly from the overall experience.
The owners are frequently praised for their friendliness, helpfulness, and local knowledge. Some guests mention thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket or helpful advice, but as these are not guaranteed for every stay, future guests should not expect them as standard.

However we felt it was tired and needed a good spruce up whilst understanding the limitations that an old property brings. Examples are a spruce up/refit of the shower room needed, a new shower curtain, all curtains in the property were old and dirty and all need replacing or maybe try washing them and see if they come up better afterwards? More knives and forks would be useful. We were a group of three ladies walking Glyndwrâs Way, very well placed as close to the path so often muddy and wet on our return home each night and the property suited us well as it was able to suit our muddy attire without us damaging or making anything dirty. A general redecoration/attention to detail and the points raised above would really enhance the property. None of the above spoilt our trip, itâs just not a place youâd go if you wanted luxury accommodation. The large basket of logs was very welcome and we used the fire each night after a long hard dayâs walking.

It does not get much more rural than this. I do not know how they managed to get so much into a building this size ( 3 bedrooms, 2 Toilets, lounge, and kitchen.) Everything you could need is at hand. One tip , do not follow sat-nav, it stops before you get there. One regret, no sheep in the paddock !!!!!.
