There are numerous public footpaths for walkers to enjoy and a section of the North Wales cycle route cuts through Llanllechid. In around ten minutes you may drive to Penryhn Castle owned by the National Trust with its grand rooms and attractive gardens. Or if you prefer a little retail therapy the city of Bangor is a further five minutes away. Ask for the quick route to Aber Falls and you could be at the start of a really nice and not too arduous walk in about 15 minutes to see the waterfall. Slightly further afield there are numerous attractive places to visit both seaside and hillside. If you want to feel really rural yet able to reach a vast array of tourist destinations, this is the place to be. Beach 5 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub 1¼ miles and restaurant 2¼ miles.

An Absolute Gem – We Will Be Back!We had the most incredible stay at Y Gorlan! The home itself is absolutely lovely, impeccably clean, and truly has everything you could possibly need for a perfect "home away from home" experience. And the view? Absolutely epic!What really made our trip unforgettable, though, was the hospitality. The owner is simply lovely and couldn’t do enough to help make our stay better. When they found out we were celebrating a birthday week away, they incredibly thoughtfully gifted us wine and cake! It’s those personal, generous touches that set this place apart.We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Highly, highly recommended!

I cannot recommend Y Gorlan enough. It’s in a lovely remote area but close enough to beautiful beaches, scenery, shops and restaurants. The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. The cottage exceeded our expectations. It’s had a revamp since the new owners took over, it has lovely new furniture which compliments it beautifully and therefore the photos do not do this beautiful cottage justice. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need. The garden with the breath taking views was a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night break, we didn’t want to leave. I wish I could attach photos to this review to show how wonderful it really is. We will definitely be back.

Lovely little place in the mountains. Perfect for a short break away. The secure garden was brilliant for the dog and we also enjoyed getting to know the horses who came over and watching the sheep and lambs climbing the walls. Hosts were friendly and welcoming.Not far from the Greenwood family park, Anglesey beach, a walk to an amazing waterfall as well as Snowdon. Perfect location.
