The village of Beddgelert is a short journey away where you can visit the grave of the legendary faithful hound, Gelert, join the Welsh Highland Railway on a steam locomotive, and find walking trails through the Craflwyn and Beddgelert nature reserve.
For your local amenities, head into Llanberis, where you can enjoy a wide variety of watersports on Llyn Peris, explore the World Heritage site of Dinorwig Quarry, delve into history at the National Slate Museum and Dolbadarn Castle. Those feeling adventurous can tackle the famous Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Peak, whilst if you came for the views but not the hike, there is a train available from Llanberis to take you up to the summit. Nearby is Beddgelert, regarded as one of the most attractive villages in the United Kingdom and named after the famous legend of Gelert the dog.
