Guests say

Old Tan Rhiw is a well-regarded cottage in Beddgelert, praised for its comfortable setting and excellent location for hiking and exploring. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, spacious communal areas, and stunning views from the garden terrace. While some guests mention the beds could be more comfortable, the overall experience is one of a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

The cottage is consistently described as clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness. However, without explicit praise for exceptional cleanliness, the score reflects a high level of satisfaction rather than perfection.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Beddgelert, scenic walks, and local amenities. It is considered a highlight and a strong reason for guests wanting to return.

The cottage is generally found to be comfortable with a warm communal space. However, several guests mention that the beds are hard and uncomfortable, which impacts the comfort score.

Facilities like the kitchen and communal spaces are well-received, but there are comments about the need for a refresh and issues with the heating system. Maintenance concerns, such as the need to empty humidifiers frequently, also affect the score.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

I was really sad to leave. This is the absolute perfect little cottage a 5 min walk from Beddgelerts shops & etc. The facilities were great, washing machine & dishwasher. Its decorated beautifully throughout. I used this as a base to visit the surrounding areas such as Portmeirion, Porthmadog, Caernarfon, Bangor and Anglesey. A very interesting garden with a beautiful view from the top. I enjoyed so much that I was very sad to leave, although I do plan on going back. Good communication from owners. 100% recommend. The only thing I will say is that the beds arent the most comfortable, but not enough to necesarily complain about.

Lovely cottage for a week of hiking (and sheltering from the rain). The cottage was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. It's a short and pretty walk to the centre of Beddgelert, and there are plenty of walks from the cottage and nearby. We would happily come back.
