Wake up among spectacular mountain views, take your morning coffee out to the bridge and sit by the stream, watching the day unfold.
The cottage, which still features an original chapel pulpit, is set out over various mezzanine levels with open-tread staircases. The snug and dining room make a statement with exposed stone walls and give you a place to escape from the excitement of the house. The farmhouse-style kitchen has everything you need to cook up delicious meals for your guests, while the splendid stone fireplace and wood burner in the lounge beckon you to curl up on the sofas after a long day out walking. On this mezzanine level, two peaceful bedrooms await, a double and a single; draw the curtain for extra privacy and snuggle into bed in these pretty cottage-style rooms, or head up to the twin on the first floor.
Small enclosed garden with seating and car parking area, plus large open grassy area and stream to the front of the property. Sit and enjoy morning coffee from the bridge over the stream. Dogs are welcome during your stay.
Head off to Coed y Brenin Forest Park (7 miles) where you can enjoy walks along the trails or hire mountain bikes to experience more of the park. Corris Railway (13.5 miles) takes you on a 50-minute train ride that includes a tour of its 133-year-old engine shed and workshops and is always a hit with children. For a beach day, visit sandy Barmouth (15 miles), or venture across the estuary to Fairbourne (14.5 miles). For fantastic views of Cader Idris, start in Dolgellau (5.5 miles) and take a 5-mile hike through hidden farms and valleys.
