Stayed 3 nights in cabin 342; 1 adult, 3x kids and 1 dog. This was a nostalgia trip for me having last visited the site over 30yrs ago as a child on the family holidays. So I thought it about time I took my own children. Staff were welcoming on arrival and we were able to get in early which was a massive help given the appalling weather and young children on board. The cabin was warm, spacious and well equipped. The beds were comfy, the kitchen very well equipped with an efficient oven and plenty of baking trays, pots and pans, plates and cutlery. Shower was great. Plenty of lighting options within, although some bulbs weren't working on arrival. Lots of storage, plenty of coat hooks. The play park was missing it's swings and it was too wet/slippery for the children to use safely use during our stay; 4, 6, 8yrs old. Didn't use the shop, cafe or pub so can't comment.Negatives; one of the top bunks didn't have a guard rail so was unable to use safely, but there were enough beds for my group of 4. I've often used Cornwall/Devon during the October half term, so I found this area lacking a bit in kids things to do, when compared to my usual holidays. That said, plenty of walking options once the kids are bigger. Llanfair slate mines were good....dog friendly too. Harlech was approx 30mins. Coed Y Brenin......great if you are a biker but not particularly well catered for if you wanted to walk - missing a trick their IMO - nothing like Whinlatter or Grizedale. Found some of the bikers quite rude when juggling 3 little people and a dog about. All in all.....id use the site again for a walking trip but not with the kids🤣.
