Very spacious log cabin that is well laid out with a double bedroom, living and kitchen area downstairs, and two twins and a double upstairs. The separate utility room was great for drying towels and swimming costumes. Overall it has great potential, however is in need of some refurbishment. Upon arrival one of the radiator thermostats had broken off, two of the toilet roll holders were broken, a couple of the finials off the curtain tie backs had fallen off and were either on the floor or missing and the weights out of the living room blinds were on the floor. Check in is currently 5pm and check out 9am to allow for ‘enhanced cleaning’ however upon moving the sofa there were a number of sticky jelly sweets, lipgloss and stickers that had been left by a previous occupant. You also have to take your own towels, fine as we knew this beforehand, however this meant that we had to pack enough for our party of seven which was a lot of additional luggage. Would have been nice if these had been provided. Beds were hard too.The hot tub was great, however on arrival there was an overwhelming smell of bleach/chemicals which I have never smelt before at anywhere we have stayed with a hot tub. It also ruined our swimming costumes and towels, the towels were covered in bleach stains after drying ourselves and the swimming costumes totally faded after one use in the hot tub. I’m a little concerned what it has done to our parties skin, after seeing the effect it had on the towels and costumes.It’s a shame we encountered the issue above as I think overall it had a great potential in a great location.
