The Hideout is located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, close to Llyn Trawsfynydd which is only one mile from the front door. You will be surrounded by mesmerising scenic countryside, excellent walking and cycling trails, lush forests, waterfalls and beautiful picnic spots. You will discover the astonishing natural beauty of Rhaeadr Mawddach and Pistyll Gain waterfalls and the dense Coed y Brenin Forest, visit Blaenau Ffestiniog, take a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway and enjoy a thrilling trip to Zip World Slate Caverns. Those with stamina can climb Cadair Idris, the highest and the most popular peak in Southern Snowdonia and enjoy a delicious lunch in Dolgellau. The area is very popular with cyclists, walkers, birdwatchers and those that love fishing, canoeing and kayaking.

Interior designers have definitely waved their magic wands over The Hideout. The living room is a fabulous space with two lavish sofas and an armchair, a contemporary log burning stove for a crackling atmosphere, a giant 80 inch surround sound Smart television for a cosy movie night with Netflix, a stunning feature of an exposed stone wall and fantastic open tred staircase leading upstairs and doors opening to the patio. It is drowned in natural light and is a stunning space. The kitchen diner is spacious and stylish with a very high ceiling, outstanding appliances including a coffee maker and a gorgeous country dining table and chairs. A separate utility room is home to laundry appliances and lots of storage space. It is perfect for muddy walking boots and warm coats.

Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, one with a lavish kingsize bed, large Smart television and an ensuite shower room and the other with a super kingsize bed that can be set up as twins on request and a large Smart television. There is a family bathroom with a freestanding bath with a trendy wall mounted river tap, large walk-in shower and LED mirror. These bedrooms are made for long lazy lie-ins and plenty of me time. They are beautifully appointed and come with luxury crisp cottons and delightful soft furnishings. Upstairs, the final bedroom boasts a beautifully dressed kingsize bed, a trendy clothes rail, a rocking chair and another Smart television.

There is plenty of magic in these beautiful spaces but there is more magic outside on the decked terrace. Your barbecue masters can create a feast on the charcoal barbecue and clay pizza oven while you pop a cork and take a blissful dip in your private hot tub while enjoying the breathtaking mountain views. The hot tub sits within a timber cabin so you can even enjoy it if the weather isn’t too great. The decking area enjoys a superb range of rattan furniture and loungers, perfect spots to watch the sunrises and sunsets and relax with your holiday books. If it is chilly, you can light up the built-in stone firepit. There is also an alternative seating area with a large chunky dining table and benches.

The Hideout enjoys a fabulous Snowdonia location. Though it is quite remote, enjoying total seclusion and tranquility, it is only ten minutes from the nearest village, fifteen minutes from the Coed y Brenin Forest Park and very close to the beautiful Trawsfynydd Lake. You can visit the Llys Ednowain Heritage Centre and hostel to enjoy a glimpse of local culture and the Trawsfynydd of old. There are many wonderful walks and cycling trails throughout the mountains and the Coed y Brenin Forest Park. The Llyn Trawsfynydd is popular for fishing of trout, walking, birdwatching and watersports. There is a boat jetty and a visitor centre with a cafe.

The beautiful historic town of Dolgellau is located between the imposing Cader Idris mountain range and the sea. Renowned as one of Wales’ prettiest towns, it boasts a fantastic selection of shops, pubs, cafes, bakeries, wine bars and restaurants as well as a prestigious 9-hole golf course. Dolgellau is home to over two hundred listed buildings and the town is designated a ‘cycle break centre’ boasting a wonderful range of dedicated cycle routes. The town is steeped in history with its main bridge over the Afon Wnion dating back to 1638. The remains of historic Cymer Abbey, founded in 1198, can be seen in the nearby village of Llanelltyd within walking distance. The Dolgellau Golf Course enjoys 9-holes and a friendly tearoom. The flat Mawddach Trail follows the old railway bed to the lovely seaside town of Barmouth. Dolgellau is the nearest town to the Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre.

You can also visit Barmouth, Portmeirion, Fairbourne, Tywyn and Aberdovey. It is an easy drive to the thrilling Zip World Penrhyn Quarry. You will enjoy sensational scenery, can take a trip on the Talyllyn Railway, visit Wales’ castles including the beautiful Castell y Bere, explore King Arthur’s Labyrinth, climb mountains, explore the Llyn Penisula and enjoy blissful walks along the Wales Coast Path.

The pretty town of Tywyn lies on the sweep of Cardigan Bay, also perched on the edge of the dramatic Cader Idris mountain range. Sitting on the edge of the Snowdonia Park, it boasts a sensational sandy beach, some excellent independent shops selling gifts and local produce, wonderful restaurants, a gorgeous little cinema and a lovely promenade. The view down the Talyllyn pass towards Llyn Mwyngil offers a glimpse of Tywyn and graces hundreds of postcards and Instragram posts. With dramatic craggy mountains standing guard either side, a winding road, a long lake and the lights of the town, it is a beautiful picture. In low tide, peat squares on the beach are exposed, capturing the sea water as the tide recedes and turning it into your own natural hot tub. Tywyn boasts the ancient Church of St Cadfan, lots of unique shops selling local crafts and books and the fabulous Magic Lantern Cinema. Though it has been refurbished the cinema has retained its old charm with murals on the wall and a quirky bar. From Tywyn, you can head over the Dysynni River towards the ruins of the old army camp in Tonfannau or take a short drive along the winding Dysynni Valley to the majestic Craig yr Aderyn and the Castell y Bere Castle. It is a must visit Welsh fortress which is strung along a jagged rocky outcrop in the valley, at the foot of Cader Idris. Construction of the castle begain in 1221 and the castle remained in use until 1294. Other sandy beaches include Fairbourne and Barmouth.

The Talyllyn Railway has been steaming from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn in Southern Snowdonia since 1865. It is a narrow gauge preserved railway running for just over seven miles, first opening to carry slate from the quarries at Bryn Eglwys to Tywyn. If you take the train, you will enjoy sensational scenery and nostalgic feelings of time gone by.

The chocolate box village of Aberdovey is a must visit. It is famous for it sandy beaches, sailing and its championship 18-hole links golf course which is ranked in the UK’s top one hundred courses. The village enjoys beautiful pastel-painted cottages, charming little shops, pubs, restaurants specialising in seafood and a warm relaxed ambience. It boasts four miles of golden sand dunes and beach popular with swimmers, sunbathers, surfers and fishermen. It is so pretty and popular that Aberdovey can get crowded in the summer.

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. It is a very pretty, bustling village full of charming tea rooms, cosy pubs, arts and craft shops and wonderful restaurants, all centred around the Afon Galslyn River. You can enjoy a gentle river stroll to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’ famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. The village of Beddgelert is famous for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn’s dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover the dog had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack.

The pretty village of Portmeirion was designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, an ardent environmentalist in the early 20th century. Its riviera inspired houses, ornamental garden and campanile stand out against the trees and hills. Portmeirion opened as an attractive private village in 1926. You can stretch your legs in its ten hectare woodland, an Edwardian wild garden designed by Caton Haigh who was a world authority on Himalayan flowering trees and exotic plants. The gardens are brimming with camelias, rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolia and maidenhair trees bringing blazes of colour. Sir Williams-Ellis’s daughter Susan was already selling her ceramics in the village when, in 1960, she took over a Stoke-on-Trent pottery and named it after the village. Traditional and contemporary pottery is a favourite from the village gift shops.
