Hendre Barn Mawr receives glowing feedback for its spacious, beautifully decorated interiors and extensive, secure gardens, making it ideal for families, walkers, and dog owners. Guests praise the peaceful location, stunning views, and proximity to scenic walks and a friendly local pub. The property is well-equipped, warm, and comfortable, with many visitors keen to return. While a few guests noted minor cleanliness and dog policy concerns, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with the barn providing a relaxing and memorable base for exploring the area.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with some describing it as spotless. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as dust under sofas and a need for improved cleanliness, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and direct access to walks and local attractions. The proximity to the village pub and scenic spots like Cadair Idris and Dolgoch Falls is frequently highlighted.
Guests consistently describe the barn as warm, cosy, spacious, and comfortable, even in cold weather. The beds and living areas are well-received, contributing to a relaxing stay.
The barn is commended for its excellent facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, large dining area, boiler room for drying, and secure garden. Some minor suggestions for improvement (e.g., an extra double bed) were noted but did not detract from overall satisfaction.
The owner is frequently described as helpful and attentive, providing local recommendations and responsive communication. While some guests mention a welcoming atmosphere, there are no specific references to gifts or welcome packs, so these cannot be guaranteed.

We have just had a wonderful week at Hendre Barn Mawr. The house was well catered for with plenty of space and a fantastic spacious garden with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There was even a (well needed) fan to help us navigate the 31 degrees, towards the end of our week. The owner was very helpful and gave recommendations for our stay and for the local area. The local pub The Railway Inn was a 4 minutes walk away and was a highlight. We enjoyed a few meals and drinks there within our week, aswell as some great walks in the locality. Dolgellau and Tywyn were both within 20 minutes for shops and more amenities. All in all, its a great property, in a beautiful part of the country.
