Why choose Belfast for your group trip?
The largest city in Northern Island has a lot going for it, with brilliant museums, excellent restaurants, Irish pubs galore, beautiful buildings and top attractions.
Being the birthplace of the Titanic, a visit to Titanic Belfast is a must. Built on the slipways where the infamous ship was constructed more than 100 years ago, Titanic Belfast is so much more than a museum. Named the World's Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards, this impressive building contains nine galleries split across six floors, reflecting the actual height of the ship. There are interactive exhibitions, an underwater cinema, gantry rides, reconstructions and special effects.
Another museum well worth a visit is Ulster Museum. There are exhibitions about Belfast's history, fossils and dinosaur bones found on the island and works of art from all over the world to marvel at.
If you fancy taking it a little easy, head to the stunning Botanic Gardens, designed in the 19th century by Sir Charles Lanyon. Enjoy a relaxing wander through this tranquil haven and take in the huge variety of plants and flowers.
There's also the Belfast Zoological Gardens to discover. Home to more than 120 species of animals, you can get up close and personal and discover endangered species and much more.
Another site you won't want to miss is the incredible Belfast City Hall. Join a free tour and discover the beautiful stained glass windows depicting Celtic myths and legends before relaxing on the picturesque grounds, which include the Titanic Memorial Garden.
When you've finished there, pop along to one of Belfast's top attractions, Crumlin Road Gaol. Officially closed in 1996, this is considered one of the most haunted sites in Belfast. You can take part in the Paranormal tour and visit the most haunted spots, as well as the flogging room and execution chamber.
St. George's Market is one of Belfast's oldest markets and is a hub of activity. Completed in 1896, you'll find about 300 vendors with stalls offering everything from food to crafts. Grab some fresh oysters, enjoy a wander and take in the surroundings of this charming Victorian building.
Want to escape the city for a bit of natural beauty? Then a visit to Cave Hill Country Park is a must. Named for the five caves along the main Belfast cliffs, you can join a walking trail, let the kids go wild on the playground and gaze at the spectacular views. The park is also the site of some of Belfast's most ancient history, including Belfast Castle and McArt's Fort.
