  We had an excellent stay at Middle Barn cottage and can highly recommend the property.

  There were many personal touches that made us feel welcome and added to our stay, such as a courtesy call on our day of arrival, fresh eggs and some wine set out for us, the cot we requested fully set up with bedding, and toys set out in the child's playroom when we arrived. The dual sitting rooms are perfect for a mixed family setup, with a child's playroom and larger living room next door, and the kitchen is big enough to host everyone at mealtimes. The bedrooms are cosy and there is more than enough storage for an extended visit. The garden is private and pleasant, and the hot-tub is an excellent bonus. A few tips for anyone booking a stay: * The road down to the property is narrow, steep and potholed, but can be navigated without trouble by driving carefully at low speed. * There is enough parking for at least 3 cars right outside. * Food delivery and taxi firms found the cottage without too much trouble. * Upstairs and downstairs have separate heating controls, and we found that upstairs became too hot at night if you increased it above 16 degrees.   We had went as a group of 10 friends, to do the Yorkshire dales 3 peak challenge.

  Slightly far from the starting point but we had absolutely loved the accommodation and had dearly wished that we taken an extra day to soak in the house. We were slightly apprehensive prior to arriving at the property due to the recent reviews, but the place turned out to be better than expected though I can understand what some people might feel towards the amount of notes placed around the house. It was a warm and very spacious house. However, it should be noted that the toilet downstairs is not easily lockable, and one of the ensuite room's toilet is doorless too. The pots/pans are on the worn out side so might have struggled a little in terms of cooking had we needed to stay in the house for meals frequently. Despite all that, we had absolutely loved the conservatory, felt like a sauna under the gorgeous sun we had over the weekend, and the rooms were spacious. I would go back again to this place if I am ever in the area, especially if more locks and better cookery are added. Thank you very much!

  We were unsure whether bed linen was to be provided.

  Information sent by email 13 September confirmed bedlinen was provided. Latest information by Email on 18 October omitted the sentence saying that bed linen was provided. Difficult to check . Amanda eventually confirmed on 23 October that it was provided. Comfort was not high. Though adequate for our needs especially regarding comfortable chairs in the TV lounge. All facilities operated correctly, but some of our party were concerned with the lack of any locks on toilet doors. Poor instruction about local re-cycling rules. Access road is in very poor condition. Ok for SUVs, but my car bottomed twice on the deeply ridged and potholed surface! Batteries had to be replaced in the TV controller before it would work. The building works in the field in view from the conservatory were very close. very visible and noisy at times. Did not affect us much because we were away from the house every day, but if we had needed a relaxing stay..........Hope these comments help.

  Absolutely beautiful cottage with gorgeous views.

  Fabulous decor and well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The bed on the second floor was really comfortable. Beware though as the stairs up to the second floor are really steep. Just one disappointment, we booked thinking it was an enclosed garden, the garden isn’t enclosed so we were unable to let the dog out without a lead, there is a shared access alleyway between the row of cottages and their gardens which leads on to the road, this should be made clear in the cottage description on the website. Having said this we would stay again if we weren’t taking the dog. The Prosecco and biscuits were a nice touch and Natalie was really helpful with info about the parking when we arrived.

  An absolutely amazing place to stay!

  Bev has thought of absolutely everything at The Middle Barn, from the little touches in the kitchen, to the helpful shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom! I requested if the cottage could be decorated with birthday decorations upon my arrival and nothing was too much, I couldn't have done a better job myself, it looked amazing! The property is spacious yet retains it's cosy feel at the same time which is lovely, all the bedrooms and social areas are in keeping and the hot tub seated all 8 of us and really made the weekend away! I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for brilliant value for money and everything you could need and more!
