What our customers say about their holidays

  • David - Verified booking

My two sons and I had a lovely week at Windycroft.

The house was very clean, homely and had everything we needed. The views were amazing, they look good on the photos but are even better in real life. We loved sitting on the seats outside and watching out over the harbour and town below. The house is just around the corner from the Barmouth bridge and one of our favourite days out was walking across it to Fairbourne spending the day there and then getting the train back. Even on our one rainy day we didn’t feel like we were missing out by staying in as it was so cosy sitting and looking out of the windows. I think it would be a good house to stay in at any time of year. Yes there are steps up to the property but the views you get once up there easily make up for this and if you carry on up the steps there are walks you can go on and even more extensive views. The owner was very helpful and responsive and we would definitely stay again.

Such a wonderful property in an ideal location in an ideal location.

The house itself is well furnished with some thoughtful touches throughout. The views are stunning from the front of the house and we spent every morning and evening just watching the boats bobbing about in the harbour. Yes the steps up to it aren't ideal, but it's not that many and completely worth it when you get to the top, I counted 42, so not that many really. We used the parking permit to park on the large carpark near the beach which is a welcome addition to our holiday not having to pay for parking. We also used it when we went visiting other towns by using the list that was given to us, proved very helpful and is a thoughtful touch to be included in the stay at this property. Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay and the hosts were very helpful and communication was great. We look forward to visiting again soon. X

November 2024 This is a very comfortable house with super views and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Sitting by one of the windows with a cup of tea watching the the last of a beautiful sunset fade into darkness was a highlight. There are many things to do in the immediate vicinity and I really recommend climbing higher up the steps by the house and onto the hill for some fabulous walks and views. It was great having the parking permit and the 5-10 min walk to the car park not a problem - we were able to pull over on the side of the road by the house for a brief time to unload our luggage on arrival. The house is situated quite high above the main road into town but it is not at all noisy. You can hear the rattle of the occasional small train going past but all is very quiet at night. As many have commented on here, Dan the owner is very friendly and helpful and we really felt welcomed into this lovely home. Thank-you, Dan!

(Reviewing from our holiday in June).

Stunning location, with fabulous views. The farmhouse was perfect for us. We thought we would be making full use of the pool table during our stay, but we had the most amazing weather so we spent most of our time out and about and sitting outside the farmhouse. There is everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable, and would recommend this accommodation to anyone. The only slightly negative comment we would make is that the wall at the front of the property is quite low so if you have dogs, you will need to be aware of this because of the proximity of the sheep and cows in the fields. We didn't leave our dogs unattended whilst outside.

    Windycroft is an amazing property.

Set into the cliff with an amazing view in all directions, this is a perfect house to stay in Barmouth. Full of character and very well equipped, it has everything you could wish for. Amazing walks, literally on your doorstep and the quaint town if Barmouth, a five minute walk. On an evening, you can sit outside and just take in the quiet surroundings, thousands of stars, gentle lapping of the sea and watch the bats swooping for insects. You may even be lucky enough to see an owl! We will definitely be back to Windycroft... the 43 steps up to the property may be too much for some, so bear that in mind. Highly recommended
