Mas Du Gard is a charming 16th century stone mas which has been lovingly restored into an authentic Provençal retreat by a talented designer, just 5 minutes' drive from the famous Pont du Gard. The quaint local village is mere steps away, ideal for morning pastry runs, while the well-known market town Uzès is 20-minutes away by car.
The home has been carefully and intentionally restored, benefitting from refined interiors and facilities, including air-conditioning, while retaining its original character. The property features a wonderful open plan kitchen, fully-equipped, for you (or your chef) to enjoy. The large living area with dining table opens out to the garden and shaded terrace, overlooking the crystal clear pool, perfect for refreshing dips on warm summer days. The courtyard garden also has a second entry through a gate leading on to a small impasse, ideal for coming and going with bikes. There are are five double bedrooms with en suites, beautifully made up with luxurious linens and bath products, sleeping up to 10 guests comfortably. The Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the top visited Roman ruin in France, can be reached within a 5-minute drive, or on foot, following the traces of the ancient aqueduct which originally passed through the local village. Visit the museum on site and go for a swim or canoe in the river, admiring the impressive view. In addition to the local village bakery, stores and restaurants, the nearby town of Uzès with its City of Art and History classification hosts popular markets every Wednesday and Saturday. Take outings to charming villages such as Castillon-du-Gard and Les Baux-de-Provence, and cities Nîmes and Avignon, which are not to be missed.

The larger market town Uzès, has a City of Art and History designation, boasting well-preserved historic buildings and boutique shops. The town centre, Place-aux-Herbes, is dotted with plane trees, inviting pavement cafes and eateries, including a Michelin-starred restaurant under the arches. The twice-weekly market is a must-see, offering regional and seasonal products such as honey, olive oil, and of course, wine. Be sure to admire the architecture of the Fenestrelle Tower and climb to the top for stunning views over the local surroundings.
There are many picturesque villages and towns to discover nearby, including Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, famous for its pottery and artisan shops, and the hilltop villages of Castillon-du-Gard and Lussan. Mas Du Gard is well located for guests seeking outdoorsy adventures with several hiking, cycling and horse riding trails nearby, as well as swimming and watersports opportunities in the Gardon river, complimented by the beautiful countryside scenery. The area is also esteemed for its vineyards and wineries, offering guests the chance to sample some of the best wines in the region.
Nîmes, one of the great Roman cities, is a wonderful day out - marvel at the remarkably preserved Roman landmarks, including the iconic Arena of Nîmes, and Maison Carrée. Similarly, Avignon, home to the Palais des Papes, is teeming with rich medieval history and exceptional cuisine.
