Close to both Avignon and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Le Mas de Verquières captures the essence of rural living. Its soft-hued shutters reflects timeless charm, while inside, the home has been tastefully renovated to offer light-filled, contemporary spaces infused with character. Framed by mature trees in the rustic garden, the villa offers a restful escape in one of the most picturesque corners of southern France.
Spread across three levels, the interiors combine modern comforts with a relaxed farmhouse aesthetic. An open-plan kitchen, dining and living area forms the heart of the home, where art work adorns the walls and doors open out to the garden. Thoughtfully styled, every space is designed with convivial gatherings in mind. Five bedrooms, including four with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning, provide flexible accommodation for up to 10 guests.
Outside, the private pool sits within the rustic garden with its poolside terrace and loungers, and there is a covered dining area perfect for long summer lunches. Meanwhile, younger guests will especially love the trampoline, table tennis and boules court. It’s a delightful and authentic setting with one hectare of grounds leading out to woodland.
The villa is ideally located for exploring the treasures of Provence, just 1km from the small village of Verquières with its grocery shop and a short distance to other local villages for restaurants and further amenities. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with its atmospheric squares, weekly market, art galleries and acclaimed restaurants, lies only 12km away. Historic Avignon and the Roman heritage of Arles make for fantastic day trips, while the rolling landscapes of Les Alpilles and the Luberon offer endless opportunities for cycling, hiking, wine-tasting and picture-perfect villages.
With its authentic charm, generous grounds and great location, Le Mas de Verquières is a superb base for a wonderful stay in Provence.
Set along a country lane only 1km from the small village of Verquières, Le Mas de Verquières offers a wonderfully located Provençal escape around 18km south-east of Avignon.
There’s an épicerie in Verquières whilst the nearby villages of Cabannes, Saint-Andiol and Mollèges offer convenient access to daily essentials, with cafés, bakeries, supermarkets and traditional restaurants serving up the tastes of Provence.
Just 12km away, the elegant town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence beckons with its winding cobbled streets, art galleries and refined eateries. A visit here promises a blend of rustic charm and cultural sophistication, all framed by the gentle foothills of the Alpilles. Don’t miss Saint-Rémy’s bustling market on a Wednesday morning, one of the most well known in the region.
Nature lovers and explorers will be drawn to the dramatic limestone peaks and postcard-perfect villages of Les Alpilles. Lose yourself in the medieval splendour of Les Baux-de-Provence, perched high above the olive groves, or savour the Provençal charm of Eygalières, with its quiet stone lanes, high-end restaurants and lively weekly market.
Heading north instead, a day trip to Avignon unveils the awe-inspiring Palais des Papes and the legendary Pont d’Avignon, alongside elegant shop, vibrant markets and sun-dappled terraces ideal for a long, leisurely lunch.
For a quintessential Provençal experience, venture east to the Luberon and discover its iconic hilltop villages. The striking silhouettes of Ménerbes and Gordes cling to the cliffsides, offering breathtaking views and authentic village life, perfect for a scenic drive or relaxed afternoon exploring artisan boutiques and cafés. Slightly closer to home, the riverside town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue charms with its antique markets, leafy canals and atmospheric restaurant terraces, ideal for a day of relaxed browsing and local indulgence, also home to one of southern France’s most famous brocantes on a Sunday morning.
