Cross the threshold into the heart of the home where you can find the sitting room with a crackling open fire, the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring or to cosy up in front of as the sea winds whistle outside.
Later, head into the kitchen/diner to rustle up a hearty meal that the whole family can enjoy at the dining table or alfresco on the private deck which boasts unbeatable views over the wild landscape to the sea. When the evening draws to a close, wash off the day’s adventure in either the bathroom on the ground floor or first floor before sloping off to sleep in either of the double bedrooms, the ground-floor twin or the single completing the first floor. Find all your amenities in the village of Lettermore which houses a convenience store and local pub before exploring the wild coastline which comprises both sandy and rocky beaches.
Connemara National Park is slightly further afield but offers outdoor enthusiasts a plethora of activities, and 7000 acres of mountains, bogs and grasslands which have walking and hiking trails woven throughout; the perfect place to admire the wild beauty of Ireland. Located on a little island in the southwestern corner of County Galway, the picturesque settlement of Lettermore is linked to the mainland by a narrow causeway and included on Bord Failte's Wild Atlantic Way. The community has a friendly Irish pub, a convenience store, and a traditional butcher shop, and it's in a region where Irish is still commonly spoken, so that adds to the experience. The location is stunning, making it a perfect home base for exploring the area's many intriguing attractions. Sailing, fishing, and scuba diving are all fantastic options, and there are a plethora of beaches, inlets, and coves to discover in the area. Only a short drive away is the magnificent Connemara National Park, and no visit to this area of the world would be complete without spending at least a day on the mystical Aran Islands, which lie in Galway Bay. The ideal destination for holidaymakers of any age or interest, any time of year.
