Brittas Bay is also home to a world-famous European Golf Links course and offers a variety of family-friendly activities such as surfing and horse riding. Inland, the Wicklow Mountains are the largest mountain area in Ireland. The National Park stretches across almost 23,000 hectares featuring wide-open vistas, winding roads and fast-flowing streams that descend into the deep lakes of the wooded valleys – St Kevin’s monastic settlement at Glendalough (19 miles) is a must-see.
