Large Holiday Homes in Cork

Get away with your loved ones with large cottages in Cork

The lush coastal haven of Cork is landscaped with rolling hills, ports, coves, bays and a rugged yet idyllic coastline.

This buzzing Irish city is packed with pubs, galleries, museums and some of the best restaurants Ireland has to offer. Cork is a great destination for a group holiday and our big cottages in Cork are the perfect base to explore everything the city has to offer.

If you're planning a group trip with friends or family, browse our selection of handpicked holiday homes. From cottages on the coast to cosy woodland retreats, you're sure to find the perfect large house to rent in Cork to make your trip one to remember.

Why choose Cork for your holiday?

Cork has a rich maritime history spanning a thousand years and is filled with activities and excellent places to eat. It has the longest shoreline of any county in Ireland, the last sunset in Europe and one of the deepest natural harbours in the world.

If you fancy seeing some of the glorious Irish coast, you can follow Ireland's spectacular Wild Atlantic Way route. Cork is the perfect starting point as you travel along the coast visiting sites like the Old Head of Kinsale, Mizen Head and Dursey Island. You'll have the opportunity to spot jutting peninsulas, remote islands and (if you're very lucky) humpback whales and dolphins.

West Cork is also home to some of Ireland's prettiest seaside towns. You can make a day of it by visiting towns such as Kinsale and sampling its famous seafood.

Cork City Gaol is well worth a visit to discover what the life of prisoners was like a century ago. It looks more like a castle than a jail, but don't be fooled. It contains a haunting past. Take a tour around the cells, featuring realistic models of prisoners and guards and eerie sound effects. The tour uncovers the harshness of the 19th-century penal system and is very moving.

In the past, Cork was at the centre of Europe's butter trade, and the Cork Butter Museum speaks to Ireland's dairy history. The museum is a wholesome way to walk down Cork's buttery memory lane where you can learn about local creameries, the traditional craft of butter making and lots more.

If you're feeling energetic, climb the bell tower at St. Anne's Church in the historic Shandon area and have a go at ringing the bells. You can choose your own tune and everyone will hear the bells ring out around the city.

For a spot of art, visit the Crawford Gallery just off Patrick's Street. The gallery is free to explore and is home to the famous Canova Casts, a series of plaster casts donated by the Vatican Museum.

The English Market is a great place to enjoy some local produce. Set up in 1788 by the Protestant corporation that then controlled the city, the market is stunning with ornate vaulted ceilings, a marble fountain and iconic columns. You'll find hundreds of vendors selling fresh, local produce. Why not take your goodies and head to Bishop Lucey Park nearby and enjoy a relaxing picnic?

Located just ten minutes from Cork City is the world-famous Blarney Castle. The castle is home to the Blarney Stone, which, according to legend, holds the power to bless anyone who kisses it. The grounds are stunning with themed gardens, including the brilliant Poison Garden.

Nearby is Rock Close where yew and oak trees grow around an ancient druidic settlement. There's also a witch's kitchen, a set of 'wishing steps,' a water garden and waterfalls.

Group accommodation in Cork to make your trip complete
