This modern villa exudes both style and character. We love the chic living space, light-filled dining area and gorgeous kitchen with its breakfast bar. Elegant fittings and large windows juxtapose exposed stone walls, creating and warm and welcoming ambience, with doors sliding open to the terrace, garden and private swimming pool.
The sense of charm continues across the four bedrooms, all of which feature en suite bathrooms. There are two doubles on the ground floor and a family quad bedroom upstairs with a double and bunk-bed. Also on the first floor is the master double, an especially impressive room with wood-beamed ceilings and a stunning bathroom with a decadent tub and walk-in shower.
When it comes to exploring, the elegant spa-town of Acqui Terme is only 15 minutes by car with its geothermal springs, historic character and excellent restaurants. Meanwhile, follow local wine trails, visit beautiful towns such as Asti and Alessandria or head a little further to the Ligurian coast and city of Genoa, before returning to your charming Piedmont villa for al-fresco meals on the terrace accompanied by scenic views and some of the finest wines in Italy.
Villa Tagliolo is a modern villa in the Alto Monferrato hills just a 15-minute drive from the spa town of Acqui Terme, an ideal gateway to northern Italy’s Piedmont region.
The nearest amenities can be found in the village of Rivalta Bormida, just over a 5-minute drive away, including a small supermarket and a restaurant. There are further supermarkets and a train station in Acqui Terme (12km). This elegant spa town is a must-visit with its geothermal springs, beautiful squares, superb shops and the historic Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta. It’s twice-weekly market is a great way to pick up a wealth of delicious local produce and there is a choice of excellent restaurants.
This is part of the Piedmont wine region is known as Gran Monferrato and there are many high quality wines to discover – look out for the Gran Monferrato Wine & Food Trail across the province with routes near Acqui Terme, Ovada and beyond.
Indeed, Ovada (14km) is a lively hub known for its food and wine scene – the town boasts a great selection of restaurants showcasing the culinary traditions of both Piedmont and Liguria, no doubt accompanied by Dolcetto di Ovada DOC red wine. Perhaps combine with a visit to the pretty village of Tagliolo Monferrato (16km) with its medieval lanes, 12th-century castle, wine cellars and a good restaurants serving authentic Piedmontese dishes.
For a cultural trip, the provincial capital of Alessandria (30km) offers a mix of historic grandeur and gastronomy, with tree-lined boulevards, shopping streets and atmospheric piazzas.
