Set below the village of Prazeres in Calheta, the villa pairs clean-lined interiors with generous outdoor spaces, making it a great choice for families or groups of up to six looking to spend plenty of time in the Madeiran sunshine.
Inside, large picture windows fill the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with natural light while keeping the ocean firmly in view. All three air-conditioned bedrooms face south towards the sea and open directly onto the terrace and pool deck, so those blue horizons are never far away.
Outside is where Villa Lento really comes into its own. The 10-metre private swimming pool has a shallow ledge for sun loungers, while the expansive terrace offers plenty of space for long afternoons outdoors. Fire up the built-in barbecue for dinner, or gather around the sunken dining area as the sun drops over the Atlantic.
With Prazeres, Calheta and the surf spots of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar within easy reach, Villa Lento is also well placed for exploring Madeira’s west coast, levada trails and mountain landscapes.
Villa Lento sits below the village of Prazeres on Madeira’s south-west coast, a great base for discovering both the island’s coastline and mountainous interior. Prazeres has a small selection of cafés and restaurants, as well as a local supermarket, while the surrounding area offers easy access to Madeira’s famous levada walks and hiking routes towards the Paul da Serra plateau.
Head down towards the coast and you can reach Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar in around ten minutes by car. Both villages are known for their surf culture, waterfront cafés and dramatic position between the mountains and Atlantic. For a change of pace, Calheta is around 13km away, with its golden sandy beach, marina, restaurants and boat trips, including dolphin-watching excursions.
Madeira’s capital, Funchal, is approximately a 50-minute drive away, while the airport can be reached in under an hour. A hire car is recommended for exploring the area.
