A lovely spacious 3-bedroom holiday home set in a quiet residential area of the lovely village of Fordham, which is situated in the middle of Ely, Cambridge, and Bury St Edmunds. It’s the ideal choice for couples, families and friends wishing to explore this fabulous part of East Anglia. Used as the owner’s family holiday home, they want other guests to enjoy it as much as they do. The large kitchen diner provides everything you need to prepare a lovely evening meal or hearty breakfast and has bi-folding doors to the garden. Please note that although the property welcomes dogs, the garden is not enclosed but surrounds the bungalow.
The spacious bedrooms are all on the ground floor as is the newly fitted walk-in shower room. It’s a great base to discover all the lovely towns and cities in this region including Ely with its stunning Cathedral only 20 minutes away where you can enjoy a day out taking in the beautiful scenes and browsing a verity of shops, restaurants, and pubs. Newmarket with its famous horse racing course is only 15 minutes away.
The University city of Cambridge is approximately 25 minutes’ drive where you can marvel at the beautiful buildings, go punting on the river or enjoy an afternoon tea at one of the many tea rooms, cafés, and restaurants. There are many local attractions to visit including the legendary Oliver Cromwell’s house, The National Horseracing Museum, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, Palace House Newmarket, Wicken Fen Nature Reserve, Imperial War Museum – Duxford and Thetford Forest. For a longer day out, visit the seaside at Hunstanton about an hour away, as is the city of Norwich.

Hedgeways is a lovely comfortable bungalow in a peaceful setting within a very pleasant village We stayed just after Christmas,leaving just after New Year ,when the weather was hovering close to freezing daily but the bungalow was wonderfully warm throughout.It has a lovely large kitchen ,with a large dining table and additional seating,perfect for our family of board game lovers and 2 dogs.The sitting room was pleasant and comfortable as were all 3 bedrooms. The bathroom and en suite were of an excellent standard with a very good shower.The bungalow had a large wrap around garden ,which while not totally enclosed was well away from any roads, and was much enjoyed by our dogs.There is a wood for dog exercising close by ,and walks from the garden down the village alleyway s to the local amenities.The bungalow was ideally situated for visiting Cambridge( the park and ride is around 14 miles away and takes no time getting there), Ely a very short drive and Bury St Edmunds,a beautiful friendly town, which is extremely dog friendly., and Wicken Fen ,5 minutes away for a pleasant walk and cafe.We were greeted at the bungalow on arrival by the lovely nextdoor neighbour,who was keen to ensure we should knock if there was anything we needed or wanted to know, a lovely welcome.I would definitely recommend this bungalow for anyone visiting that area.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Hedgeways. The bungalow was comfortable and had everything we needed. Good location, easy access to shops and pubs, as well as Anglesey Abbey, Cambridge, Ely, Wimpole Estate and Sandringham.
