On arrival we were met by the owner Veronica, the cottage was very clean and well decorated and furnished, enough utensils in kitchen to do simple meals with electric hob and full size oven, we found the bed to be very comfortable and bedroom had plenty of storage space, the only slight issue was the shower never got very warm but there was plenty of hot water if you wanted a bath, I would certainly recommend a visit.

Gilbert’s is a comfortable cottage, adjacent to the farmhouse. Quiet peaceful and very relaxing, it was very clean. The bathroom has both a large walk in shower as well as a bath. The kitchen/dining area was a good size. The kitchen would have benefitted from a few more oven proof dishes and additional trays for the oven. The owner was friendly and welcoming and the dogs (one young working dog and one retired) were a delight. There is a small outdoor seating area to the rear. Ebrington is a small, traditional Cotswold village with a pub and Church (see the tomb of the ‘sinking Chancellor’) but no shop or local cafe. The surrounding countryside is beautiful but it should be noted that Gilbert’s is positioned within the farm complex so you do not have any views other than the farm buildings. Ideal for walking or touring the Cotswolds. Chipping Camden is only a couple of miles away and Stratford upon Avon, Cirencester, Bilbury, Tewksbury, Evesham, Banbury and Warwick all within easy reach. There are a number of NT properties in the area and Hidecote is less than 2 miles away and Charlecote Park a few miles further. A very pleasant stay and I will return.
