Guests say

The Downs Barn Lodge is a charming cottage praised for its character, comfortable beds, and beautiful location. Guests enjoyed the cosy wood burner, the spaciousness, and the lovely grounds, making it a preferred choice for a peaceful retreat. The nearby farm shop adds convenience to the stay.

Guests consistently described the cottage as spotless and well-maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is highly regarded for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to local attractions and a farm shop. The picturesque setting in the Cotswolds and the private, well-kept grounds are frequently mentioned positives.

The comfort of the beds and the cosiness provided by the wood burner are often highlighted. However, some guests mentioned issues with heating efficiency during colder months, slightly affecting the overall comfort score.

While the lodge is generally well-furnished and equipped, there are mixed reviews regarding the maintenance of facilities such as the heating system and kitchen amenities. Some guests faced issues with the TV reception and bathroom sink drainage.

There is insufficient information to accurately score thoughtfulness. While a welcome pack is mentioned, it is not clear if this is a consistent offering, and there are no other references to gifts or additional thoughtful touches.

Beautiful cottage situated within the well-kept grounds of the hosts family home. Two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a large kitchen/diner/lounge area. Air source energy provided very comfortable background heat, and the use of a log burner made the lounge very cosy. Friendly and welcoming host on site, but not intrusive. Very happy to stay in such a great little cottage and would certainly recommend.

Stayed in the cottage for a few days with a friend and we very much enjoyed our time there. Lovely towns and places to eat nearby, especially recommend the Crown pub for a roast dinner.
