About this property

Three stone-built  barn conversions sleeping 2 to 20 set amongst farm fields and nature-rich rewilding land near the Peak District, ideal for friends, families and group celebrations. The three barns can be rented individually or joined together for groups of up to 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20.

Our three cottages are designed to provide the perfect place for families and friends to get together and have fun. They are light, spacious and have a balance between shared living spaces and privacy. The three cottages can be booked independently or interlinked; and offer one large living room (with custom-made dining table) and two cosier sitting rooms.

Sycamore Farm Barns have been lovingly restored and furnished with comfort in mind. We have two accessible ground-floor wetrooms and a mix of ground-floor and upstairs bedrooms. Many bedrooms are ensuite and there are also separate bathrooms. All our cottages are heated from locally sourced wood through underfloor heating from our beast of a wood burner, to keep you snug and the water piping hot. Internal interconnecting doors can be set open for a freeflow of guests, or closed off to treat the cottages as three separate spaces during your stay.

You're welcome to wander round the farm, including our ancient orchard, fields, ponds and extensive cottage flower garden. Each cottage has its own outside seating and barbecue facilities and there's a firepit to make the most of long summer evenings.

We welcome up to three dogs at a doggy guest fee of £25/dog per stay.

Nearby you'll find plenty of fabulous walks and cycling opportunities all around. Carsington Water offers watersports opportunities and there's climbing and kayaking locally too.

Our local pub (with excellent beers, wine and food) is only a short walk from the farm and nearby historic Wirksworth's independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs are just 5 minutes drive away. History buffs will love the Chatsworth and Haddon estates (play spot the film location!) or exploring Richard Arkwright's mills in the birthplace of industry, nearby Derwent Valley. Crich Tramway Village offers a fun multigenerational day out, riding restored trams, playing in the woods and visiting reconstructed heritage buildings from all over Britain.

There is plenty of parking for as many cars as you need to bring.

We welcome weekend and long weekend bookings, between Thursdays and Mondays.
