Enclosed lawned garden with patio, picnic tables and brick barbecue. Sauna suite (by £1 meter). Private parking, 400 yards away and two spaces at the owners home. No smoking.. This fine old stone chapel was built in 1817 and is set in the heart of ‘The Clusters’ conservation area of the Derwent Valley mill town of Belper. It is about 10 miles from Matlock Bath and Ashbourne, and on the doorstep of the Peak District Park.
Carefully transformed into a spacious split-level residence, it can accommodate a large party seeking a well-equipped, comfortable holiday base. There’s a huge 40ft galleried and beamed living room.
Pubs, bistros, and heritage trails at the door, with riverside walks 400 yards. Alton Towers, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall all under 30 minutes, with climbing, caving, and gliding under 20 miles and water sports at Carsington Water 6 miles. Shops, pubs, restaurants 200 yards.
Three dogs only, £20 each.

Quite a tired looking place. Access via a narrow passage often blocked by beer barrels from a pub. WiFi was inadequate - poor signal from a very old router. The coffee machine in the kitchen did not work.The light at the bottom the main stairs needs a new bulbThe light in the area outside the sauna needs a new bulbThe sauna was in a disgusting state with wierd dark globules hanging from the wooden ceiling slats.Wall mounted fire alarm had no battery in it.It was not possible to open the Velux windows in the main loungeThe water only mode of operation on the heating system did not ignite the boiler so we had to use the immersion heater. Owner refunded the money we had put into the meter.The toilet seat in the ground floor en suite is dangerously loose for anyone with mobility restrictions.Parking was inconvenient as we had to park a way from the property. There were not enough parking spaces allocated and we had some disputes with neighbours about where we could leave cars.

Malfunctioning showers, broken toilet seats( plumber on holiday and no other available apparently!)Not particularly clean and needs updating.Access not easy and parking away from buildingWell equipped kitchen but pots and pans very old, only half cooker working.Light not working in area where the freezer is. Some of the curtain hems in living room undone and curtain falling off. Used sanitary product in bin in downstairs bathroom.However a very spacious house , central location and the children enjoyed it.

Clusters Chapel has lots of positives:- huge sitting room which is great for kids and large groups - lots of bathrooms for large groups.However, there are a few negatives:- parking off site and difficult in muddy conditions- hard to access property through narrow alleyway by the pub - very old bedding/carpets- beds could be more comfortable!- showers are all quite weak- electricity meter that costs an extra £15 a weekend at least - TV that doesn’t work
