About this property

This lovely, four-bedroom, stone-built stable conversion was originally part of the stables and carriage house to the hall. It overlooks the courtyard and small frontage garden, with views across the surrounding parkland and open countryside. Entry is from the main entrance door into a large vestibule hall, beautifully furnished to the highest of standards. The country-style kitchen is beautifully equipped for preparing delicious meals and has plenty of character, with a separate dining room for enjoying meals together and a large sitting room. Each of the four bedrooms are tastefully appointed, one with an en-suite, allowing flexibility for sleeping arrangements. To the front a patio and private lawned garden, which has fine views over fields, provides a wonderful area for relaxing and enjoying the sun. Note: This property adjoins Ref. 927577, together they sleep 14.

The small, rural village of Ashover is peacefully situated in the Amber Valley, just five miles from Matlock. The village affords a 9-hole golf course and several good pubs, including the Crispin Inn, renowned as one of the oldest pubs in the Peak District. The county town of Matlock, famous for its warm springs, offers a host of fine eating places, good shops and an interesting museum.

Facilities overall were well-suited for our party of 6 . Location was ideal for seclusion and quietness in scenic surroundings , and local walks right on the doorstep . Set outside the centre of the village , the property had easy access car-wise to larger towns , superb scenery and tourist attractions . keen to go back next year - Credit and thanks to the owners who were always available and approachable concerning any problems .

So many quirky features along with the modern. It is so spacious. Even in the intense heat of the later part of our week the stone walls kept it cool downstairs. Everywhere was well kept and clean. Any problems we had were dealt with immediately. It is an ideal place for a stay to visit the Peak District. We had some lovely days out locally. Returning to the cool of the cottage or relaxing in the garden. I would happily recommend to other families. I would love to come back again if in the area with my family.

There was plenty of room to spread out and it was well placed for exploring the area.
