Picturesque holiday cottage
Hillside Croft is a large, luxury self-catering cottage located near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Situated within six acres of private gardens and verdant pasture land, this Grade II listed, sandstone cottage lies in the rolling Derbyshire Dales between both the famous Peak District National Park and the beautiful, historic Amber Valley.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 10 to 14 people. There are five bedrooms – four double and one twin – giving a sleeping capacity of 10. In addition, within these rooms, there are four single beds and two single bed-chairs, giving a total sleeping capacity of up to 16.

Due to uncertainty as to what any future rules might be when the hospitality industry reopens, especially concerning how many people may meet in a group indoors, we are taking bookings as usual but subject to the following flexible cancellation policy.
In particular, if at the time of your holiday any relevant rules would apply with would restrict your numbers, we will offer you the following options:
1. to rebook,
2. a full refund, or
3. to shrink your booking to the reduced rate.
Likewise, if at the time of your holiday the relevant rules would be relaxed, we will offer you the following options:
4. to keep your booking, or
5. to expand your booking to our standard rate.
Finally, if at the time of your holiday either a lockdown or a local lockdown (on the part of either ourselves or the hirer) applies, we will again offer you the following options:
6. to rebook, or
7. a full refund.
TAKE A TOUR
A cosy, Grade II listed, sandstone cottage, Hillside Croft features heavy oak beams throughout, pretty stone-mullioned and leaded windows, and a wealth of revealed timber and stonework. Stone ground floors, rugs and handmade, antique pine furniture throughout add extra character, while coordinated furnishings, logs stoves downstairs and central heating throughout make for an exceptionally warm and comfortable environment.
Our charming, intimate farmhouse kitchen is a delight, comprising handmade antique pine kitchen units, a double French pottery sink, granite worktops and a tiled floor. Overlooking a picturesque rear garden, with various herbs, berries and fruit trees planted for your use, it is perfect for hosting family and large groups of friends! The kitchen comes with a full electric halogen cooker with a double oven, a slow cooker, and a microwave, a fridge and a fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble drier, as well as an adjoining WC by the rear entrance.
The dining room is next to the kitchen, comfortably seating 10 to 12 at its large farmhouse table, with extra seating for up to 16 and all the crockery you might need. With a log burner set under an impressive inglenook fireplace, it offers an especially comfortable space for eating, drinking and playing games!
A separate lounge area lies across the main entrance from the dining room, with three sofas and one comfy chair comfortably seating 10. The lounge comes with a HDTV and Freeview, a DVD player and a packed bookcase, perfect for when you just want to relax!
All of the characterful bedrooms are light and warm, and overlook our beautiful landscaped gardens, including an en-suite master bedroom, with its own power shower, WC and wash basin and shaving sockets. Two of the rooms come with LCD TVs and all of the rooms come with a hairdryer.
A fabulous master bathroom completes the layout, with a large Victorian-style, roll-topped bath and shower, a separate walk-in power shower, a WC and a wash basin and shaving sockets. A potty and a WC stand are provided for children.
GARDENS AND PARKING
This charming country cottage is surrounded by flower-filled landscaped gardens – including a well-fenced nature pond – and wide, undulating pastureland. Bursting with birds and abundant with wildlife, the wider area and its footpaths are wonderful to explore or take a stroll! Completing this pretty picture, Hillside Croft has a sheltered patio area with a hardwood table and chairs, an umbrella, barbeque, chimenea and hot tub – perfect after a hard day’s relaxing!
A large off-road private parking area is handily accessible next to the property.

Located in the attractive Derbyshire Dales between the Peak District National Park and Amber Valley, Hillside Croft is conveniently placed to take advantage of a wide range of places of interest, activities, market towns and villages.
Places of interest include: Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Peveril Castle and Calke Abbey, Blue John Caves and Arbor Low, and Alton Towers and Gulliver’s Kingdom.
Activities include: walking, cycling, horse riding, water sports, climbing, pot holing, quad biking, paintballing, archery and clay pigeon shooting, to name a few.
Market towns and villages include: Ashbourne, Belper, Matlock and Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Buxton, Tissington, Ilam, Hartington, Castleton, Eyam, and Tideswell.
Hillside Croft is an attractive, Grade II listed, sandstone farmhouse tucked away in the hilly pasturelands of the delightful Derbyshire Dales, touching the southern tip of the Peak District National Park. With nearby nature walks, cycling trails and activities galore, you’ll always have something to do!
Long-stay prices usually range from £2,000 (off-peak) to £2,400 (peak).
Short-stay prices usually range from £1,600 (off-peak weekend or midweek) to £1,880 (peak weekend or midweek).
Christmas and New Year usually available for £2,650 (week).
