Ashbourne, a nearby market town known for its eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, and quaint coaching inns, is a veritable haven for antique hunters, boasting a plethora of great antique stores as well as a wide selection of excellent bars and eateries. There are plenty of opportunities for recreation and rest in and around the area, including the nearby Dove and Manifold Valleys and the short drive to Carsington Water and Alton Towers.
