I needed a little hideaway in the long Winter months and this fitted the bill. Whilst some of the decor and furnishings were a little tired looking, the cottage was very warm and cosy as soon as I arrived, and stayed that way, which in February was a definite plus (a little chilly in the bathroom - though I didn't use the wall heater). The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen area was a little cramped and I found that not all electric points functioned. I didn't find any info on the WiFi code and assumed there was no WiFi. It was only on rechecking the details after my stay that I realised there was WiFi, so perhaps the code should be displayed somewhere more prominently. No problems using the TV. All in all, a nice little getaway in a quiet setting.

This was such a lovely, cosy little place and it was just right for my husband and I. We wanted to stay in the area for a few days over New Year and it was perfect. The Saddlery is on a lovely farm with horses, chickens and dogs. There was a Christmas tree and it was really warm when we arrived. The village is very pretty with a great pub, where we had a delicious meal on New Year's Eve. We went for a super walk, which we were able to start straight from the village, without the need for a car. Ruth was very helpful and welcoming.

The Saddlery is a quaint little place on an old picturesque farm, in a village with a great pub/restaurant and for the three days we were there, we used it as a launching point to visit parts of the Peak District as well as Stoke-on-Trent. It is nicely decorated, and for the two of us there was plenty of space, the shower had great hot water, and the kitchen provided the equipment we needed for cooking in. Unfortunately, it wasn't as comfortable as we'd hoped and we wouldn't recommend it for winter stays. Our stay coincided with the first cold snap of the season and the space heaters provided just didn't provide enough warmth to overpower the cold seeping in. There are wall radiators, but they weren't turned on and no instructions, although for our last night, we happened to see Ruth and she offered to have her husband program the main room one and that did help, but it was still a chilly place, especially the bathroom.
