Woods View Cottage in the Peak District offers a cosy, comfortable stay with a well-equipped kitchen, pleasant garden, and a convenient pub nearby. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, the scenic location ideal for walks, and the thoughtful touches like games and a log burner. While some found the cottage hard to find and the parking challenging, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many planning return visits.
The cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, with guests consistently noting it as well-appointed and immaculate. One isolated report of dissatisfaction due to dust and a dirty pillowcase appears to be an exception.
The location is celebrated for its scenic walks and proximity to a friendly local pub. The village's tranquillity and accessibility to nearby attractions are also appreciated, although some guests noted the lanes to be narrow and the property a bit tricky to find.
Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a warm log burner and comfortable beds enhancing their stay. However, a few guests mentioned that space might feel cramped with five adults and that the twin room could be tight for two adults.
The cottage is well-equipped with a variety of facilities including internet, Netflix, and a log burner. Guests are satisfied with the kitchen and dining areas, though there are comments about the need to replace some cookware and a request for a colander.
While many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful touches like board games and a comprehensive information folder, there is no mention of gifts provided by the host, thus a score cannot be given for this category.

Dog owners note that dogs are not allowed upstairs and the garden, while enclosed, is not secure!

Beds were very comfy as was the lounge. Garden perfect for the dog on a long lead (gaps at bottom of hedge) and full of bird song . Lovely to sit out and have breakfast. Stair gate kept opening by itself so we put a chair in front of it. Was great to have a gate though. We really enjoyed our stay, such a great position for Matlock and all the resources there. Lovely area of the peaks, did Buxton, stanage edge , mam tor, Castleton and monsal trail, all in easy distance . Thank you so much , hope to be back again x
