Situated on a quiet lane in the heart of the market town of Horncastle is Banovallum Cottage, a terraced property that’s furnished to a good standard to provide holidaymakers with the quintessential holiday home in Lincolnshire. The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists alike, due to its great tracks and trails that pass right by the front door; the Viking Way cuts through the centre of the town. Horncastle’s history dates to well before the Roman occupation, today there are still many places locally where remains of the Roman fort wall can still be viewed.
Horncastle has the Wolds Wildliffe Park, as well as a fine selection of local pubs and hotels as well as a variety of different eating establishments to suit most tastes. Lincoln features a fantastic cathedral, castle and the Magna Carta Visitor Centre, all of which are 30 minutes away. In the opposite direction is Skegness, a seaside resort with fine sandy beaches and many local attractions. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Visitor Centre is just a 15-minute drive away, there is The Bubble Car Museum a 20-minute drive, the Fishing Heritage Centre is only half an hour away, also locally there are castles, windmills country houses and the lovely inland resort of Woodhall Spa a mere 7 miles away with its famous golf courses and world-famous unique Kinema in the woods.
There are many warm and welcoming country pubs scattered throughout the Lincolnshire Wolds. For finding the best of Lincolnshire’s local produce or souvenirs, there’s the Georgian market town of Louth, which hosts 3 weekly markets just 15 minutes away by car. At the end of the day, there’s unarguably no better way to relax after a day’s exploration in the Lincolnshire Wolds than jumping in the cottage’s private hot tub (at cost). Fishing nearby (licence required). Beach 21 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Niestety nie jestem zadowolony z pobytu. Największym problemem był całkowity brak komunikacji obiekt jest prowadzony przez firmę pośredniczącą i nie dało się skontaktować z żadną konkretną osobą. Zero odpowiedzi, zero możliwości wyjaśnienia czegokolwiek. Przez brak komunikacji nie było też żadnej możliwości zmiany rezerwacji, co było dla mnie dużym problemem. Bardzo słabe doświadczenie.

A lovely location! The owners welcomed us and unobtrusively checked on the hot tub each day, and quickly answered any questions we had. The Wi-Fi, shower and oven all worked well without any issues (we find at least one of those trips us up each holiday!) and we appreciated the spacious hot tub to relax in each evening. There was plenty of space in the cottage for the 5 of us, the kitchen was spacious and the lounge very comfortable with a log burner fire. The beds were very comfortable.Other welcome features included plenty of crockery and glassware, and blankets provided either for warmth alongside bedding or to use while relaxing on the sofa. The only small suggestion for improvement I would make would be for another set of cutlery- the dishwasher was great, and another set would add flexibility while it is running.Days out included the Wolds Wildlfe Park- excellent value and great access to a wide range of animals, and days out at beaches such as Anderby Creek & Sutton on Sea.Thank you for a great stay, highly recommended.
