The Old Stables was good but there were a few things that could improve. We took our 95 year old mum for a short break but the bathroom was pretty awful, really cold heated towel rail not working shower cubicle to small and not accessible to her. The hob in the kitchen did not heat up so no cooking available the fridge so small you could not put food in and stranger still no back door to the garden to let the dog out . Back fence not high enough most dogs would jump over and the grass was to high. Lovely welcome by Keith and pleasant views but all in all a bit disappointing.

We had a very nice peaceful Christmas holiday at the old stables. The cottage is beautifully presented, well appointed, clean and comfortable. We were near enough Horncastle to easily pick up things if we needed them. Our dogs enjoyed the garden attached, just had to be careful of yard cats when walking to the garden from the cottage. We tried not to befriend the horses but if you go in the garden it's hard to ignore them wanting nose rubs as they huff until you say hello🤣We found good dog fields a five minute drive into Horncastle near the cricket and leisure clubs there's woodland and large pastures we took our dogs on for zoomies and met lots of nice dog walkers. We enjoyed visiting Lincoln cathedral with dogs on Christmas day.We also visited Chapel st Leonard's and enjoyed a sheltered walk through the sand dunes as it was really windy and cold on the beach!I would definitely recommend the accommodation, only thing that could be improved is the size of fridge freezer and the strength of the WiFi at times, tiny things really!
