We stayed here for our first Christmas holiday and it was definitely the best place, we was welcomed by Jono, he showed us round and made sure we had everything we need it was so peaceful, and relaxing, everything was to a high standard, there’s a lovely walk from the door where we saw birds of prey, deer and horses.It is really the best place to be to get away from it all

Lovely location and setting, we enjoyed looking out at the trees and fairy lights while having a cosy fire burning. Very well equipped property and good communication from the owners. Not too far to travel to find groceries and places to eat and a great base for days out. Unfortunately we found the bed very uncomfortable and also it was a double and not king size as advertised when we booked.

We had a lovely short stay in the Lodge in the Woods. The generous (and delicious) welcome pack provided by the owners was a lovely surprise. It being mid November we made good use of the log burning stove which really makes the Lodge a cosy place to be. The setting is ideal, private, picturesque but accessible. Looking at the wooded garden we can see how enjoyable it would be sitting out on warm summer evenings - so we'll have to revisit in warmer weather. There is a lot to see and do in the area. We would warmly recommend this cottage.
