For eager anglers, the onsite lake has fishing rights, which can be used free of charge. Adjacent to the holiday park is a 9 hole golf course suitable for both novice and advanced players. The little village of Thorpe-on-the-Hill is the perfect base to explore Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Venture to the Whisby Nature Reserve and enjoy a scenic stroll around the lake, or make your way through the beautiful landscapes of the Lincolnshire Wolds, with a number of walking trails, high peaks and outdoor activities to discover.

Thorpe-on-the-Hill is a village 6 miles from Lincoln, a location from which to explore Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Nearby is the Whisby Nature Reserve. Visit Lincoln, home to a cathedral, castle with a view of the city, and shops. Lincoln is famous for its Christmas Market held on the first weekend in December. Other local attractions include Doddington Hall, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, Transport Museum, Woodside Falconry & Conservation Centre, Dambuster Heritage Centre and Sherwood Forest.

The owners even put a Christmas tree and decoration up for us which I thought was a lovely touch. Welcome hamper was nice even a selection box and gift for our grandson

The hot tub was an added bonus which we all loved. The lodge has a fantastic location and whilst there we visited Lincoln, walking and cycling around the local villages. Vicki was a great host and was very approachable and contactable. Would definitely recommend

The Lodge was perfect with very good comments in the visitors book. All conveniences were catered for. The owner was a lovely lady and pleasant to talk to. Now for the not so good. The Lodge was not heated sufficiently for November. We looked in the information book to see if we could change it. The only thing we found was a statement that it was heated to a correct temperature for comfort so need not be altered. The main bedroom never reached over 18 It was a good job we brought thick clothes. I always take throws away and they came in handy. Further the quilt on the bed was very light for the time of year and no extra blankets provided. Again my throws came in handy. I want to end on a lighter note, despite my comments. would we come again! definitely. But perhaps not so late in the year. Dorothy
