Each barn or cottage has its own private garden and hot tub with the facility to comfortably seat everyone staying. For those who enjoy wildlife, there is a 50-acre nature reserve further down the lane, close to the barns, where there are excellent walks and opportunities for bird watching.
Visit the imposing castle in Lincoln, with the Magna Carta visitor centre and the beautiful cathedral in the city, then stroll down bustling Bailgate, one of the most historic parts of Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter, with its cobbled streets lined with independent boutiques, shops, many restaurants and bars. The university city of Lincoln offers a good evening out for everyone, sampling the many excellent restaurants and bars making this a popular choice for a holiday location. Lincolnshire Showground, which hosts an array of events throughout the year, and the Hemswell Antiques Centre is within easy reach.
The Lincolnshire coastline, with its sandy beaches and traditional seaside resorts, is 45 minutes’ drive away, whilst the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with pretty market towns and country pubs, are close by. We were a family party of 10, including toddlers and babies. The accomodation was spacious, modern and clean. The hot tub was fantastic and the guys who checked it daily were friendly and professional. There were a few things about The Birches that were a little less satisfactory: the dishwasher was not fitted very well - the door was wobbly - and it didn't work particularly well. The tumble dryer was also not particularly effective, despite trying various programmes. A lot of the door handles were droopy and didn't close the doors and a new dustpan is needed! We loved the quiet location and had great days out at Lincoln, the Zoo, Skegness and Rand Farm Park. All in all, The Birches was a good base for exploring and I thought it was reasonably good value.

This barn has everything you need for a relaxing break or huge party! The facilities were immaculately clean, with some lovely personal touches from the owners, the hot tub was checked every morning and night even the outside bbq was spotless, really impressed with how it was set out. We had a great couple of days There isn’t much within walking distance but that’s what we wanted as a group. Would definitely visit again
