Set in rolling rural countryside on the borders of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire, yet only a short drive from the major motorway connections of the M40 (Junctions 10 and 11), The Hayloft and The Stalls (refs NAB & NAC) are adjoining barn conversions which lie on the edge of the Cotswolds. They offer spacious, light and airy holiday accommodation that is still warm, cosy and comfortable with wooden floors and a wood-burning stove. There are numerous established footpaths and bridle paths which criss-cross the area and take guests through some of the most picturesque countryside and landscapes. The nearby village of Aynho is famous for the apricot trees grown on the stone walls of the old houses. The historic market town of Banbury is close by, whilst Deddington (with a monthly farmers’ market), Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Shipston-on-Stour give a more traditional view of the Cotswolds and the chance to stroll along the quaint high streets, stopping at one of the many tea shops and country inns for which the area is famous. Less than 30 minutes away lies Blenheim Palace, in the town of Woodstock, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and home of the Blenheim Horse Trials. In the opposite direction, why not sample Sulgrave Manor (ancestral home of the family of George Washington) or Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, situated next to a forest - or divert to shop at designer boutiques in the highly acclaimed Bicester Village Outlet Centre. A little farther afield, but still within easy driving distance, lie the university city of Oxford, the ancient town of Warwick, Leamington Spa and the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Commonly referred to as Shakespeare’s Stratford, this is the perfect opportunity to visit many historic attractions including the Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Aynho is an hour’s journey north to Birmingham (with the National Exhibition Centre) or south to London itself. There are excellent fast trains from Banbury or Bicester, or drive via the M40. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile !

Very spacious, well equipped cottage. Comfortable beds which can be made into two separate beds. Felt bigger than King size when made up as one. Great base for what we wanted. Even supplied fans for all bedrooms and hair dryers. Torches etc. Equipment in the kitchen was great as some cottages do not even have the basic equipment. Yes there are ant traps and we did still see some as well as other bugs but you are in the country so it is expected. A couple of problems, but soon sorted by the caretaker Helen. We did find the noise from the motorway a bit annoying but soon got used to it and it didn’t hamper our stay, you can literally see the cars going by and hear it. But it is hidden by the trees. Lovely walk to the Ford and Souldern Village, not too far if you don’t like walking, but it is hilly going up from the Ford. Stopped for drink at The Fox Inn but this pub doesnt appear to be open often. Banbury nearby and Silverstone race track. Bicester shopping village also nearby. Further afield driving distance to The Farmers Dog and Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Gardens which was a great day out. Saw Red Kites everyday, Hares, Rabbits, Pheasants, Squirrel, Barn Owl and the nearby RH Aynho Park that you drive alongside the wall too you can see the deer in the fields. Would not hesitate to come back or recommend a stay here.

A nice, well equipped cottage. Ideal cottage for a quiet, peaceful stay. Downstairs bedroom perfect for those wishing to avoid stairs. Good location for exploring the area. Lovely local walks where you can see deer.

. We were plagued with ants in all the rooms even though the manager had left ant traps out. I have booked many different types of properties over the years, but I have never had the manager sitting outside the property for 45 mins waiting for us to leave so she can come and clean. This made us feel very uncomfortable. Quite noisy due to the property being near the motorway especially when sitting outside and at night. Nice walks near the property.
