On road parking (seasonal restrictions); additional public car park nearby. No smoking.. A recently built fabulous property set in an enviable location and only 400 feet to the beach. The Boat House offers room for four people and space to relax. On the ground floor you’ll find the master bedroom, complete with shower/wet room and plenty of storage. Upstairs is the second bedroom with twin single beds and space for the travel cot, and family bathroom. The house benefits from plenty of natural light and modern plantation shutters to the windows and the second bedroom also has Velux windows and blackout blinds, along with free Wi-Fi. Although this charming property does not have its own garden space, four-legged friends are more than welcome. There is a convenient verge just outside for short walks, with the beach nearby offering plenty of space for longer strolls and playtime. You will find a folder within the property listing many local attractions, pubs and restaurants.
Mersea Island benefits from some fantastic shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs as well as being famous for its seafood and brightly coloured beach huts. Enjoy a drink or something to eat in one of the family friendly pubs and restaurants. Mersea Island is great for anyone who wants a break beside the sea but there are lots of activities to keep you busy too - walking, cycling and sailing to name a few. The Boat House is an ideal location from which to explore Mersea Island.
Cudmore Grove Country Park is situated a short distance away at East Mersea and is terrific for those who prefer green open spaces and quieter spots, why not take a picnic? Should you decide to travel, only 20 minutes away and you can find yourself in the historic city of of Colchester or Maldon, both worth a visit. There are two beachside cafés, a park, a small shop (seasonal) and a bar serving food all within 5 minutes walk of the property. There are further amenities just over a mile away including butchers, bakery and supermarkets.

Our first time visiting Mersea could not have been better, thanks to our stay at this lovely boathouse. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, tidy, and exceptionally well-equipped.The hosts have truly thought of everything. They left wonderful extra touches that made us feel so welcome, including wine for me, treats for my dog, shower gels, and hand soaps. It is such a cosy place!We booked hoping for a typical English summer, but instead hit the hottest June on record. My dog and I do not deal with intense heat very well, which unfortunately meant we couldn't do all the sightseeing we originally planned. However, the apartment stayed remarkably cool and comfortable thanks to the window shutters and the fans provided by the hosts.Despite the heatwave, we still enjoyed beautiful, peaceful early morning and late evening walks right along the beach.We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back when the weather is a bit cooler! Very comfortable stay. Nicely refurbished all equipment required available . Close proximity to beach and locale cafes. Had a lovely time despite the weather would like to go there again.
